she can't walk - SAD UPDATE - We lost Blueberry this afternoon

Well, as of this morning Blueberry was not interested in eating. I finally got my DH to let me bring her inside and I gave her a bath because she'd been pooping and laying in it, then I blow dried her and put her in a cage in the breezeway next to a heater.
I managed to get some more Duramycen into her (I don't know how much a chicken should drink daily, but I've been getting about 2-3 eyedroppers full down her every few hours) and I also got some very liquidy baby food and yogurt into her (a few eyedroppers full).
She had a real watery smelly poop (not much) but is starting to get a little more lethargic. I'm just hoping we can hang in there until Monday.
The Duramycen should kick in by tomorrow if it's going to do anything and I'm continuing to give her vitamins. I'll continue with eyedroppers of watery foods as much as possible to get some nourishment in her and hope that keeps her going.
If anyone knows how much water a chicken should be drinking per day I'd really appreciate it so I know how much Duramycen I need to force.
Thanks.

Try scrambling some eggs and breaking into pieces and prying her beak open, inserting them. I also have had luck in mixing water and vitamins, drawling it up in a 3ml. syringe and inserting it just under the loose skin on the back. Do this 3 times a day to help hydration. I would get some Tylan 50 from TSC and give her a shot, and also give some Wazine, encase she has worms.

I did try some scrambled eggs this morning. No go. She kept spitting it out. This afternoon I sat with her for quite a while with some really liquid mash and the Duramycen water solution and force fed her with the dropper. I actually was able to get a considerable amount of liquid into her (and on me until I put a bib on her) and I think that helped. Maybe the Duramycen is starting to kick in too. When I checked her a couple of hours later she had actually pecked quite a bit of her apple. I forced some more Duramycen water and liquidy mash and when I put her back in the cage she actually pecked a bit at her food bowl

. She also had a little poop that looked perfectly normal

so I think that's a good sign too.
She was wormed with Ivermectin just a few weeks ago, so I'm pretty sure it's not worms.
I probably should have gotten the Tylan in the first place when I couldn't get the Sulfadimathoxine, but I went with the Duramycen on the recommedation of the manager at the farm co-op, and in case she developed a secondary respiratory infection (which I think she may have), so, since she's on that now I don't think I should mix the two.
We just need to hold on until she sees the vet on Monday. Hopefully then we'll get a definitive answer on this.
For now at least she seems to be holding her own.
Thanks to all.

I haven't seen her start to preen again yet, but she was a lot more alert after her last "feeding". I'm hoping we're about to turn the corner

She's so fussy, she won't eat any of the treats the other girls love. All she really wants is her pellets or scratch. So, I'm giving her a really liquidy mash with her pellets and some vitamins and a bit of honey. I had to get it into her with a dropper, but I think it may have given her an energy boost.
I'll let everyone know how she is tomorrow. Hopefully, better.
Thanks again.

I'm glad she's doing better. Moving her inside should definetely help. That is the same with my hen, she gorges herself on the cornmeal, refuses layer pellets, and eats only the corn out of the chick food.

Chiclet is on the road to recovery! She has been living in my house this entire time and let me say, it doesn't smell all that great in here. I have been hand feeding her for 9 days now and it's been very hard to get her to take her vitamins. There have been times when I was very frustrated with her and almost mad because she was being so defiant. She knew I was lacing her food. She hated the taste of tums. She hated the expensive vitamin supplement I bought her. It took all day just to get her to eat her dose. Then I discovered calcium softgels - I opened one up and squeezed it out into some shredded apples and she had no idea. I still give her the vitamin E which she doesn't mind. She went from not being able to stand or even balance herself on day 1 to being able to walk 10 steps or so at a time with no balance from her wings (just wagging her tail) on day 9. She even got to see her buddies today and she was so happy! Brah Brah Brah Kawing noisily and seeming very pleased with herself. I hope Chiclet's story gives other BYCers hope. The life of an animal is valuable and worth saving with effort and patience. If, in the end, your animal cannot be saved and you did everything you could you should be proud of yourself for making the effort. A lot of people wouldn't even try.

Blueberry - we are pushing for you! Please get better little girl!

My fingers are crossed for Blue berry and Chiclet.

So glad to see they're doing better

I've been following their stories as I have a sick Barred Rock Roo. He's not walking properly and falling over all the time.
I have heard him crow in about a week.

We gave him some antibiotics tonight so hopefully he's feeling better in the morning.
He had a big scratch on his comb, we think he may just have an infection.

Hopefully good news all round in the morning

I hope your rooster is feeling better soon! Hopefully those antibiotics work quickly. I am sending him good thoughts!
