I thought they where almost fully feathered to! Least I'm not over thinking it!Excellent question.
To me they are fully feathered looking so 3.5 weeks is a giant question mark.
Mine are not that feathered until about 5+ weeks.
I have to say that we got 2 other after these two one a couple days later and the biggest one took to her right away almost like protecting her! And then about a week ago I got a baby Easter egg one and I didn't want to put her in with the bigger ones because she was so tiny! But she just cried nonstop so I put her In and the big one was yet again like a "mother hen" making sure she was ok! Even cuddled up to her when sleeping! I'm not sure if roosters have this type of temperament! She does not look like a boy yet.
Feathering rate is similar, combs are similar, size is the only difference......hmmmmm
Still a bit young but I think both are female.
The size difference is dramatic. All the males I have ever had did not grow that differently from the females.
Weird possibility.... The small one is bantam perhaps??
So after doing some research on aging her chick looks to be about 8 weeks And the other one about 7 weeks so this could explain it. Thank you guys soo much!I thought they where almost fully feathered to! Least I'm not over thinking it!
Either way I think they have beautiful fullness in my new chicken eyes lol
