me too! I don't know if they'll survive, but they're in the incubator at a steady 99.5'F I hope the thermometer is correct because I don't have a second one. I don't have a hydrometer either. The incubator I have was still sealed in the box this morning. I've never used it, always depended on my broodies. If they don't hatch, it wasn't meant to be, but I am hoping for the best...

I checked this morning still just the early one under my bantam.

we are using sat as the offical hatch day here,2 of the 8 eggs our silkie is sitting on where under her a day or two longer so it could be anyday. this is our first broody and after moving her to her new digs she flipped out. so we just left her alone! she has been fine since, but i didnt do any candling or anything! i was sort of disapointed because i wanted the kids to get to see that but maybe next time! everyone cross your fingers that we have some fuzzy butts soon!!!

my official hatch date is Sat also, however my little bantam still has her early one but is stickin tight to her nest so hopefully her other three will hatch. I moved her water and food right next to her in the nest box b/c I didnt want the little chic to starve since he hatched 4 days earlier than the rest.

I heard some peeping and knocking from in the brooder! Tomorrow is hatch day. Too bad momma isn't finishing this up, but at least we get to watch the hatching as it happens in the bator

Matilda has six as of last night. Simon, the black Australorp rooster seems to have fathered 5 of 6. I think the other might have both parents EE.

Well my bantam as of this morning hatched both bantam eggs and then left the nest with two EE eggs there. I quickly snatched them up and put them under my other broody who still has three eggs under her.

I set both nests on the same day but evidently the bantams were "started" a few days sooner than the other eggs. I got the EE eggs from a neighbor so I really dont know if they are fertile. But I made sure that I had atleast two of my own eggs under each of my girls so that they would at least have a couple hatch. I really wanted some EE's though they were such pretty green eggs.

I am still holding out hope for just one EE egg to hatch?!
