She is gone. DONE WITH HER

I'm not offended. I just always find it humorous how most people group all Mennonites together like we're all one in the same when in reality there are many different groups among us. Every thing from ultra conservative to those that you'd never know they were Mennonite if they didn't tell you. Not all Mennonites are rural and live off the land. In fact I would imagine that the biggest majority of Mennonites now days are urban and have no direct link to anything rural. I just find it interesting that if you say Mennonite everyone seems to assume that they have a rural lifestyle and do all their own butchering.

Well, I just assume they are hoarding all the best pastries.

That's my personal experience, though - from growing up going to flea markets in the early morning and waking up because we were passing within 30 miles of this Mennonite bakery and we were by all that was holy going to knock on their door at 6am and beg for them to sell us some cinnamon rolls.

I had a roo like your hen. I would hold him when he crowed (which reduced his crowing). He would look at me and grab a hen & cover her while looking at me, I SWEAR! He was NOT nice about his duties

& the poor hen would squawk and struggle. One day he pecked my daughter & broke the skin when she went in to feed them. Then the same day he pecked me & broke the skin. We wanted to wring his little neck, lol! He found a new home but QUICK. They tell me he is the most well behaved roo & friendly. He has a small flock of 2 yo hens who totally boss him around! Perfect! They keep him in line!

Now I have a wonderful roo who does a little dance before he covers the hens. If they cluck & run away he goes to the next one. He's a handsome boy (who needs a new home as we're in town) but so far he only crows a few times in the am. After we let him out of the coop he's quiet.

Good luck rehousing your hen, whether it's freezer camp or your local Mennonite community and Ooooo, you just gave me an idea about how to re-home our lovely roo!
