Now, that would just be so very wrong.  We'd have to shut down the entire thread.  The mods would be called out in force to deal with the carnage and mayhem that would result from such a blatant disregard for the initial rules of this thread.  It would have every single one of us questioning our identity... Am I red?  Am I blue?  Was I red, but now blue, or is it the other way around?  Or am I some non-descript shade of lavender... or is it purple?  Puhleeze, no q-tips.  But... if you do the coffee cup, just don't do one with a handle.  No good can come from a handled coffee cup in an incubator.

If my eggs of any species were rocking, I'd go to lock down... stop turning. If they are rocking, they are trying to get into position to hatch. (so, turning at that time might be counter productive) Increasing humidity should depend on air cell size. If they are large, go ahead and kick it up. If they have a ways to go, leave it low. (Hey... I'm a poet!) But, if you hear them talking, that's a sure sign that it'd be time to kick it up.

I wouldn't go into lockdown before day 25 personally, unless I saw pips or heard cheeping from inside (or whatever the duck equivalent might be.) They are probably just turning toward the big end. I would assume it would parrellel the same progression as chicken eggs. According to the development charts chicks actually turn toward the fat end at day 14 (not 17/18) and it's possible to see the egg rocking that early. Then again at day 17/18 when they are getting into position (head under wing). I would think at day 22 they are probably turning toward the big end. That would be my hypothesis. Of course, sometime you have to go with your gut.
