She said/He said Who's right? Who's wrong? No one!

Hey SC, turns out, me silkies aren't the only androgynous things in my possession. These little pidgies can join the club, too!

That's just off the top of my head, but I'm tired and can't think of any more (and refuse to Google names when I'm not needing them myself and, at 41, am not planning on needing any

A few of the Chick combs. this group i think will all be the same comb type either the pea comb or the true recessive straight comb
Some of the pics are too blurry to tell, but pic 2 is single comb, *I think* 3 is single comb and 5 is single comb... can't see the others enough to tell, sorry...
These 2 I'm hoping are rose or walnut combs
And these 2 are hard to tell for sure, but don't look like single combs from what I can see... :)

Well all but the 2 that are last have basically the same comb, so they are all the fully recessive singles.
The last 2 definitely don't have the single comb line down the middle.
Sorry it's hard to get good pics of these chicks.

Out of 15 chicks only 3 came out with the combs I want to work from.
The Aracuana, 1 that I think is silkie and 1 I think is Dorking, so it looks like I won't be getting blue green eggs from the Easter eggers.

lol, I understand... it's hard to get clear pics of 'moving objects'... :D

So did you stick it in your bra and let it finish hatching? :gig

:lau my neighbor would really think I'm nuts then...or it would seriously confirm his suspicions.

Does candling happen on day 7 or day 10? Also since I dont have a candler which would work better a regular flashlight or an LED?

I like the small LED flashlights.

Chick whisperer, lol... :)

Sick and unbalanced could be anything really... vitamin deficiency can cause issues too...

Btw, the Marek's vaccine is made with a turkey form of Marek's and does not cause the vaccinated birds to shed the virus... the only thing is if you have a necropsy done on a bird that's been vaccinated you need to tell them that as bloodwork *could show* a false positive for Marek's...

Marek's vaccine does not endanger unvaccinated birds...

I realize it can be anything but that's what was on my brain because we were talking about it. And with that bunch, deficiency is a definite possibility. Thanks for the information. That is what I was recently reading. If I buy a bottle of the vaccine now and only take out a little to mix, will the bottle stay good until spring?

I don't know about oyster shell but she eats everything else. I put them in all there feed these chickens are picky eaters BCMs will eat anything SLWs like scratch and layer pellets and will leave crumbles EEs like crumbles and scratch but only if the scratch is on the ground but will leave it in the feeder. they all like millet wheat sunflower seeds but not milo. I add oyster shells to there mix and cut back if they are leaving it in the feeder. I feed my chickens what they like to eat. this little chicken likes crumbles with a little a very little scratch mixed in. the local farmers COOP does a good job on scratch they put in wheat sunflower seeds layer pellets oats cracked corn and most of the time I'm happy with it when I'm not I'll buy wild bird seed to mix with my feed . this little girl is spoiled loves my wife comes right  to her to see what she has for her today .she never cleans out her feeder so I do to keep her feed fresh. but I'm not good to my chickens treat um like chickens.

Sounds like you spoil all of them. I loved it when you had to go back out and buy the old feed because you had picked up a different one and the girls wanted the other one! :lau You're good to them!
