So I think I said how much I hate weighing today or at least I thought it when the topic came up. Then with all the talk of humidity and shipped eggs, I've decided to weigh the eggs. The air cells won't look normal and the numbers are the most accurate way. But I'm horrible at converting the numbers! Wv or anyone else good with weighing, will you help me with the conversion if I take the weights?

Ok, back to being sensible... Yes Ruby, the saran wrap was to hold in humidity. This person hatched duck eggs like that. Wet rags in a dish! I was amazed. So it can be done in something simple. I think its worth a shot.

Maybe the ones on the outside were delayed a couple days then? How long did you leave the incubator on for after the last chick hatched?

Ok: these are the best eggs I ever had shipped. From GA to NY. Only half had loose air cells. The other half had no damage. Hatch rate was about 60%.

These are the Worst air cells I've ever had, all extra loose, half detached totally. 0% hatch rate. From Northern (Jacksonville) FL to NY. Both 4 day priority trip and a 20 hr express trip. Don't know % on current batch.

Inside the egg carton, each egg is wrapped in a THIN layer of bubble wrap.

I was trying to do some research today in regards to shipping practices with eggs and I just read about people using toilet paper!! The receivers were definitely not happy. How far did your eggs have to travel?
