Now, SC... have you gone out and looked for Rocky's siblings? They're probably cold and hungry. There should be 3 more. After you get done climbing the tree to rescue the other 3, and after you get done nursing them with a doll bottle, you can take them to the local park. Of course, they'll probably follow you home.![]()
I really don't know. He's in a brooder right now. I will probably try to feed him until he is strong enough to make it in the tree on his own.
Then shoot him...
Dang cat should have found him before I did. There is nothing blue about this
Interesting subject for us to do some research on. When my aircells are small, I've left the bator dry until the first internal pip, then jacked up the humidity.Walnut, This all sounds amazing.![]()
From my very limited understanding of hatching, dropping the humidity during lock down isn't going to help grow the air cells that much. That happens prior to lock down, for the most part. The risk of dropping humidity now is that the membrane could dry out too fast and make it difficult for the chicks to get out. But there are others much more experienced than me.
What do you intend to do with your broom when the hawk swoops in for the kill??? I once went out in the middle of the night... in jammies and slippers with a broom to do battle with a predator that was killing my flock. I've since traded in my broom for a shot gun.I have been seeing one the past 3 evenings when I let my girls out, circling. I sit there with a broom on guard and my dogs are usually the other side of the gate. I never leave them unsupervised. I don't know if it would swoop in with me and the dogs out there.
Good luck putting the new thermostat in. You will love it.
One word, SW: Purple.
Dandelion greens are good for critters of all sizes and shapes.Oh, wait, before I go, does anyone have any opinions on dandelion leaves for chickens? Mine love them but don't I know if they're good for them. They act like little piranha when I hand feed them to them.
She..or he? HUGS! Not sure what you are yet sc...are you female, or are you male. Hen, or Rooster?
Be gentle with him. You don't want to get him excited.Ok, here's another one for you. My week is done. I'm going home to pet my squirrel.
You gals enjoy your GNO![]()

Um... I showed this to Hubby. First he said: You're in the wrong business. Then, after thinking about it a bit, he decided that if I advertised Rent-a-Chick, I might end up with the wrong kind of customer!
