She said/He said Who's right? Who's wrong? No one!

And, yes, @sideWing , That pullet has a crooked schnozz.

So we are looking . . .

. . . heavy on cockerels.

Shame Foley doesn't sell hatching eggs. . .

Cool. Looking forward to it! *fist bump back* lol You mean ZIS ONE! Und zis one? :D
Yes!! Ok... so I haven't sexed Wyandottes but I have sexed laced birds... this might not be 100% due to lacing not being perfect, but it should help... Look at the feathers on the wing bows (ah, shoulder type area), in the top pic the middle strip of color is extremely narrow and feathers 'look' longer and skinny, so that I believe is cockerel feathering... The second pic in the wing bows the strip of color in feathers is wider and feathers 'look' shorter, right? I believe that one is pullet feathering... In laced birds the females feathers look very similar all over, while the males lacing is narrower and more 'stretched out' looking in the hackles, saddle and wing bow areas... except in 'hen feathered' breeds like Sebrights... Hope this helps...

That would be nice. Where did you get these?

My SLW cockerels start getting blotches of white early and the pullets have the shafting look. Later the pullets shafting turned to laced uniform feathers and the cockerels blotches grow out to be the non-laced feathers. But I have only a years experience and 3 batches of wyandotte to go off of. Different breeders on each batch.

I will see if I can find a pic.

I'm not a pro fan, but I'm pulling for TN because of Mariota. Not a good day yesterday.
This was a weird weekend for college ball. SC absolutely destroyed by GA, Bama looked horrible, Auburn destroyed by LSU.
At least Southern Cal. lost. I know someone on here posted during that game, and I'm sorry, but I can't stand the other USC. Overrated every year, always in the top ten just because they are USC, always lose to an unranked team

Oh yeah, chickens...

Wrecked it. You're welcome.

three times the first ones turned out to be EEs.

which I would not have known had you guys not told me . the all black black lavender splits should be laying in a few weeks. and now Rayvn's eggs when and If they hatch. and now a new problem the big red football that lives here is starting to sit in trees closer to my coops. can't let my chickens out without staying with them. I hope when I get the hay fields cut it will be able to catch rabbits and leave my chickens a lone. I have deflators but it is so big and pretty and all the chickens are covered. also deflating footballs is against the rules .

SSS that farm boy he ain't so dumb .

There was a football in the trees above our run today, squeeing it's laces off. I almost got the deflator.

This helps with purebred laced Wyandotte (at least in my opinion)

Cockerel - pattern breaking up. Starts on the shoulders.

Pullet - lacing just starting and uniform

Not great examples of SLW, but this is what they end up as.

I'm working with Foley to get some good stock in my state.

Makes sense. Those are the pointy feathers E1 kept talking about then. *Le sigh*

I can't get back to see what sideWing said, but from what I saw in scrolling it does look like a lot of boys...

And some poor coloring in the girls, but if we can get a boy with good color in his hackels and a girl with a good type, we should be okay.

I have no idea about the sex of them, I will try to learn from their comments, but I will say they look lovely to me!

Thanks. I am in love with their looks, even if they aren't perfect as far as the proposed standard goes, they'll still make a beautiful backyard flock. :)

We got these from user slackwater(Casey Edinger). Supposed to be Foley, Paul and papa lines in there with heavy culling from a few years back. She was very friendly and professional. We may get hatching eggs from her again. We got these as chicks.

Well, Kentucky is only a 5-6 hour drive. Amazing how chickens can change your perspective on things like that.
