She said/He said Who's right? Who's wrong? No one!

I wait 24 hours for malpositioned pip. As ruby says they do both pips at the same time. If they haven't progressed after the 24 hrs then I start to assist. Fingers and toes crossed. Eyes too.

Since these are ducks, and ducks take a little longer than chicks, I'd personally wait at least 36 hours, but I'd be watching for any signs of distress.

My lone egg is still only internally pipped. I'm going to check on him now. I should wait at least 24 hours before doing anything, right? I noticed the internal pip, around 8 am this morning.

Good thing is, if he does hatch tomorrow, I have two more eggs due Friday morning, so he won't be alone for long!

Wow, second egg from our Golden Cuckoo Marans and it's much darker.

400

Three chicks hatched and four more pipped.

Beautiful colors!!!!

Actually, it says 10-12 hours before begining assist with malpositioned Chicks...

I think it outlines a sign of distress im seeing also, in how it has pecked away all the broken frags of shell, looks like it was trying to zip, counterclock to the orig pip theres a second break but that was also hours ago... Ive probly lost him. Hubby decided to take me to waffle house now so id stop staring at the bator and worrying. Have no appetite if u can imagine and i might be jumping from the moving car around the time we hit the driveway...

Ok. I've never seen anything that says 10-12, but you've researched, so go for it!
You know I want you to have the best hatch, so go with your gut!
