She said/He said Who's right? Who's wrong? No one!

It is usually the cause and often with shipped eggs.

I do not know what is happening with the eggs that are not shipped, maybe the hen is laying eggs that are not complete.
Like Amy, I'm thinking the 'problem' eggs have all come from the same hen, which to me would point toward a genetic weakness.
If she finds out that the eggs are from more than a single hen, then I'd be wondering about the rooster, or perhaps an unknown dietary deficiency.
Make sense?

Genetic, diet and health makes sense but the rooster no. He only fertalizes the egg. All else, including gender comes from the hen.

Allegany. A couple years ago they got into trash cans in the trailer court less than 1/8 mile away. Everyone cleaned up but bears are still around.

One had twins last year. I kept my distance. We have a privacy fence and the bears are not enormous.

They climb on cars and scratch them up especially Garrett County.

Some pretty wild country over that way, all right.
I hunted Green Ridge for 6 years running, but never saw any evidence of bears, but I sure knew they were around.

So I have 3 rambunctious chicks out! And 4 more pips. 1 egg pipped wrong side and 1 chick is trying to bust out of the pointy end! I think I'm going to move the chicks to the brooder, so I can keep an eye on these 4 pips. This has been a busy night and only half way over!! I hope all the pips make it! Plus the other two look good and rocking but no pips yet! Going really good for shipped eggs!!

Pics when you get a chance pleeeezeee! :)
I'm so glad you are getting some hatchers
