She said/He said Who's right? Who's wrong? No one!

Mine aren’t predictable, lol... have way too many for that... they sound off whenever they feel like it and many times it turns into a competition... still would rather hear all that than a single dog that won't shut up...

Ah... you're in the hormonal teenager stage... loads of fun!! :D ;)

Well, I work, and am usually gone on weekends, so I guess I can predict when they crow lmao! But I think you are right, they crow alot more than I know about. And I imagine the bantams are going to be worse. Luckily I'm in good graces with my neighbors... They all like eggs :D

I'll be coming back up to TC next week (Monday afternoon), I can bring you some fertile chicken eggs from my "Fancy EE" flock for practice.  They'll be Light Brahma x EE roo over Red Sex Link.  Lots of pretty birds out of that cross, and they should lay a good number of light green eggs.  Let me know if you want some and I'll set them aside.

I would be interested in some yes. Just need to figure logistics. I know I will also be working in TC, but on Sunday. Not 100% if I will be Monday. I am about 30 min from Kalkaska and just over an hour from TC city limits.

It's not your brain, it's mine...lol I could have sworn I typed (forced air)  lol  I'm shot!

That's ok, we can be shot together!! I've been puked on tonight, stepped in a huge puddle of un-identified liquid and just got everyone to sleep now (it's 10pm for crying out loud)...my brain is done!

There is way too much liquid still in the egg... can see from the candling... they are drowning before they can pip... what is your average ambient humidity there?

I've gotta hatch every egg for a while once they start laying... I am not sure when I might release eggs, but you and WV will be the first to know...

That's what I was thinking. But if they died in the third week, would liquid be normal?
And I hear ya! Do what you have to do. I will enjoy watching you hatch!! :)

My silkie surprised me

this morning with one duckie. More to come?

Oh my goodness! That is just the cutest little duckling ever!! What kind??

Oh my is that cute.  Quit with the duck pics already... I don't have a place for ducks, ducks are messy, duck hens are noisy, ducks are hard to pluck...more reasons, please, to keep me from getting ducks again!

That's what I keep telling myself but then I look at how small the calls are and how they bond to you...then I go back to the mess and the noise...then I see those pics and :love!

Got some pics this evening. Handsome Louie, and my cute little black tail buff japanese

Very handsome indeed!

Question.. if I want chicken eggs to hatch on for example Jan 22 I would put them in the incubator on Jan 1 correct? I am going to try setting by the moon sign. Maybe I will have better luck lol.

Neighbor on one side says they don't hardly hear ours, and when they do it doesn't bother them... other neighbor can kiss my @$$, so all good here, lol...

The OEGB's have the most annoying crow, very high pitched... Ohiki crows are neat... and the lf crows are deep so they really don't bother me... :D

She said the yolk was almost all the way absorbed, so that was close to pip time when they died... they actually start breathing right before they break the membrane... I got to see it once and it was cool yet freaky...

Correct! If you want them to hatch early on th 22nd, set early on the 1st or if late, set late on the 1st... :)

So why do you think the air cells weren't drawn down? Could that be because of too much humidity. I thought that meant they died. You've been a wealth of knowledge for me, btw! Saw someone on FB that had a "happy feet" chick and was panicking...and I knew, thanks to you, what it was!!
