She said/He said Who's right? Who's wrong? No one!

So why do you think the air cells weren't drawn down? Could that be because of too much humidity. I thought that meant they died. You've been a wealth of knowledge for me, btw! Saw someone on FB that had a "happy feet" chick and was panicking...and I knew, thanks to you, what it was!!

Yep, too much humidity... they draw down when they spin around to pip and they do that because the need for air drives them... too much liquid also means they can't get purchase to push themselves around thus drowning in liquid...
Glad you were able to help them! I just pass on what I learn as I go... :)

My silkie colors are improving!! :celebrate

2 pullets I kept back from this year...

And the cockerel I kept back...

Neighbor on one side says they don't hardly hear ours, and when they do it doesn't bother them... other neighbor can kiss my @$$, so all good here, lol...

The OEGB's have the most annoying crow, very high pitched... Ohiki crows are neat... and the lf crows are deep so they really don't bother me... :D
She said the yolk was almost all the way absorbed, so that was close to pip time when they died... they actually start breathing right before they break the membrane... I got to see it once and it was cool yet freaky...

Hahahahahahah !!!! :lau :gig. I feel the same way about mine!!! All neighbors on all sides and corner but one love them.......the others can kiss my bootay! They actually have not complained since they have been back for the fall and winter....so we shall see.

They look good!! I have a lot of people asking me about a reputable source for shipped silkie eggs on byc, are your girls laying and are you selling? Cus I've told a few people that I'm not sure if you have eggs but you can be trusted and pack the best! I'm headed to bed so if I don't respond tonight, I will in the morning.

Up to 3 pips tonight... and pip #2 is already zipping... Has tons of energy compared to the other 2. First is still just a peak in the shell...

Mine don't dare complain... it was fheir dogs that wiped out our entire grow out pen this summer... and family is still split due to them... I'll talk to them when they grow up and take care of their responsibilities... in the mean time, I increased my Call duck flock with lots of girls!! :gig

Still not enough eggs to bother collecting and sending... one hen raising a single chick, another is molting so bad she can see and has no crest and a couple others molting but not as bad as her... the others are still spotty layers and rest are too young... :/
