yep that what happens . and it happens every time .did you get my email ?

Yep, sent you 2 back... ;)

He is almost 22 weeks along with 1 pullet. The rest are 5 or 6 girls and 1 or 2 boys (still not 100% sure on the sex, they are silkies) that are almost 18 weeks. So they should be catching up to him soon. He doesn't try to mate them but keeps biting the back of their necks. I wish I had an older hen to put him in his place! I will definitely consider isolating him if he goes any further or it seems like he's stressing them out. Thanks for the input!

Glad to help... seriously, even a couple days in a cage will change their attitudes... I had a SDW OEGB cockerel attacking my Call ducks viciously the other day... stuck him in a cage for 2 days and now he is sweet as pie... still selling him tomorrow though, don't need another hormonal teenage boy here... :/

Hubby and I were talking about the chicks the other evening and he actually said "I really like the black and gold ones"... My golden sebrights. I was shocked lol. He really does love the good ole golden comet girls though, because they are so sweet and friendly... He calls them his girls.
My LO cockerel has only been interested in the older silkies. I haven't seen him try anything with the girls the same age. I was planning to move the LOs tomorrow, but the silkies are staying. Now I'm wondering if that's a bad idea. The boys won't have any older girls and might start on the younger girls that aren't ready yet.... Hmmmmm... What do you think?

If he is gentle with the Silkies and they are fine with him, then I'd leave him with them for now until the LO girls are older... but that is up to you... :)

I just realized that you quoted me lol, I was thinking I should probably take him out of the run. The other roo is wonderful, he loves all the hens and protects them quite well, I've never seen him bully them or even be slightly aggressive with them, he's very laid back. But the other 1 is just hateful to the hens, all of them. He wasn't like this til we lost 1 of the original 2 hens, up til then he was just as laid back and level headed as the other roo. But he loves people, more than his own kind I think, lol. He'd rather sit and stare at me or my daughter than be with the others. And he chases all the hens off when they get close to us, it's really bizarre. I've tried to let him know it's not acceptable and when I yell at him he stops but he'll do it again 5 minutes later.

Yelling will not stop that... and actually I am concerned about his behavior... a lot of people don't realize this, but his keeping the hens away from you is him seeing YOU as a threat to them... and beating up on them is pure bully... my suggestion is to remove him... and watch him... when they stare like that is a sign of challenge...
I'm not saying this to upset you, but because I am worried for you... even a small rooster can do a lot of damage especially if you aren't prepared, and it sounds to me as if he is just waiting for the right moment...
I truly hope he doesn't do it, but please don't trust him...
