She said/He said Who's right? Who's wrong? No one!

lol...

Ok, more than what he wanted to, but not as much as they are worth... bators have 3 trays each and auto turners...
Thought maybe he got lucky & nobody knew what they were worth, or there was no reserve on them.

Hey, while you're in here, I've got a question for you:
I've got 3 month-old chicks outside in a coop I built from pallets with a heat lamp I turn on at night when it's cold. The lamp's hanging up high against the roof trusses, so no danger of it starting any fires. How old you figure they'll need to be b4 I can eliminate the heat lamp?

Well that hen that I thought was going broody I just found dead :hit I guess she wasn't feeling well and was sleeping cuddled in the nesting box to feel better. I took a picture of her sleeping in there yesterday peacefully, the last picture I have of her. She also had apparently slipped off her legband, so I can't tell who she was unless I check the legbands of all the others to see who's accounted for, but I have a feeling she was either a Greenfire hen or a GF/TM cross hen. It always sucks to lose a chicken, but this one is even worse because it's such an expensive loss.

I'm so sorry!! :hugs any ideas why she passed?

So, @BYC910 scored 2 GQF cabinet bators and a GQF cabinet hatcher at the auction today...

Guesses as to what he paid???

3 hatching devices!! He is addicted!! :lau
I hope they were a great deal! What's the story, BYC? Are you gonna use them, resell them? How much??...I gotta know now!! :gig

I'm not who you directed this question to, but, they could have been weaned from all heat about 6 weeks ago.

Oh no!!! So sorry!!

No reserve, but he had a bit of competition, lol...
Huh? Not you? lol

I got a video of the pullets fighting! This black one instigates and then doesn't back down. Didn't want to make it to long but they kept going for awhile, until the young cockerel (who's not the dominate one) came over and broke them up. My main cockerel is proving to be pretty mean and useless!

Too cute! Lol

I know exactly how you feel!! Shipping is just terrible to eggs! They can be the best, healthiest, freshest eggs in the world and the shipping just scrambles those delicate cells inside. It's frustrating! :hugs good luck on the ones developing!
Been there, said that! Then placed my next order online! :gig
Jacksonville, Florida?? My only two busts with shipped eggs went through Jacksonville, Florida!
Please, take my advice. My son will be in 5th grade next year. Im honestly not a dorky mom. Don't concentrate on boys right now. I know that seems impossible but you will have the rest of your adult life to date and be in relationships. Concentrate on school, animals, your friends and family. When you're a little bit older, the right boy will want to date you because your a smart, kind, animal-loving, and caring girl. Don't rush it!
I do. But I didn't for a while. until I was absolutely certain and comfortable that I was 100% sure they were clears. Once you're sure, you can pull them anytime or wait till lockdown.
What incubator are you using? I've heard of people using store eggs and switching them out for new ones every few days with styro bators. The better your incubator, the less likely you'd need to add anything.
:fl good luck! Can't wait to see chick pics!!
Wow, I'm sorry to hear that. She's a beauty. It does look a little grayish.
:lau
He's really becoming my least favorite and he used to be my favorite! I can't walk out in my yard without him doing his little dance around me and he bites the girls and could care less about anyone but himself!! I'm switching him out with one of these new chicks, hopefully. Anyway, do they look like 2 girls??

I swear they look like girls, but that does look very boyish behavior. But get this, Armand has been trying to mate one of my silkie girls, and I saw one submit to him and the other girl ran over and knocked him off her! I assume she was jealous! Lol

@WVduckchick

Thought I'd make your day for you:
MD's first black powder season opened Thursday & ends tomorrow. We'll have a longer BP season after our rifle season.
I got one Thursday, & another this afternoon. 1st one's already in the freezer; 2nd one will join it tomorrow.

Y'all's BP season open yet?

Nah, ours isn't until Dec 7th. We had a 3-day doe season that ended today though, but I bow hunted for a couple of hours this eve. Bought a new big ole tripod stand today! Sweet!

Congrats on your meat in the freezer!! 2 this early is excellent! We cooked some a couple nights ago. Yum!!
