It's a little cutie for sure. Wonder why it's partridge?

I am guessing the leakage I had been seeing is from a partridge parent somewhere back in the line... and it popped out in full color this time... just gotta figure out who it came from, 1 of the pullets, 1 of the roos, or 1 of the roos I got rid of right before I set the eggs... :gig

I am too. I was so worried that I made the wrong decision, but it shows what a little love, patience and work can bring around.

Nothing like a rescue dog, nothin n the world

Awwwww!!!!! That's always a good thing. That means he is trusting you more and he feels part of the family.

My little find is passed out on my hubby's belly right now. We have decided that we are going to keep her. Her name is Polly and we are keeping that name just spelling it Pawley. Like the island in SC where some awesome pimento cheese comes from!!!! :lau :gig

I'm glad he is working out!!!

So glad Pawley found a Great home!

:frow hi ya everybody

Should be, but just depends on when she lays the egg, Ruby... if it's over 3 weeks and he doesn't mate her again, it might not... but since he has started, most likely he'll continue...

So, BBS should not have this color... first time ever, I had a partridge chick hatch...

Yup, that's what happens with breeding paints too. I got the perfect little partridge chick too. I read that partridge is like a wild card. It can up whenever and wherever when breeding silkies. But you're right, the gene was in the flock. As long as you know who it was, you're ahead of the game and now that he's gone it'll be interesting to see if you get another. I know Ross was looking for partridge. I was gonna send her this little one when it grows up! :)

Will let yall know later this evening  ;)

Sounds exciting!!

If I wanted to search eBay, what would I type in to find one just like this?

I found this one with "Antique Stoneware Lid Bail". After I looked at the full description I realized this one is probably a half gallon, mine is considerably larger. I have lots of old stoneware crocks of all sizes.

Stoneware Crock Lid will also find some. They aren't very common though compared to the open crocks.
