I try to stay at a dozen, because that's about all I really have room for in the coop. It's manageable to leave that number for long weekends, too.

Of course, that number doesn't count chicks, extra cockerels, etc. Just my "permanent" chickens.

I am looking forward to adding some new breeds into the mix. Although when I started this journey I was determined to stay with my current number.

First pip, early afternoon. Can't chick sit as we are remodeling the kitchen. We are building the cabinet doors and draws ourselves. Hoping to get it mostly done by christmas. Trying to spread out the cost. So doing a bit at a time. Will do before and afters.
