She said/He said Who's right? Who's wrong? No one!

I have a couple of silkie eggs in my bator now that I also marked cold, collected after work on cold days. They are on day 11 and growing fine so far

Glad to hear that you're having luck with your cold eggs duckchick!
I have a hovabator 1588 and ordered another one. Still styrofoam, but I like all the eggs they can hold and I couldn't bring myslef to spend anymore :)
I have a dozen BCM eggs coming. I planned on using a separate incubator because I'm not sure about damaged air cells and using a turner.. I'm planning on the worst, hoping for the best. I was going to set both batches on the same day, but I guess that isn't completely necessary. I just want the chicks to all be in the same brooder.

So tomorrow is my son's 8th birthday. Even though we are having his actual party Saturday, I'm putting the cake together tomorrow. I still have half the upstairs to get in order and I want to steam clean the downstairs. I have a feeling I'll be wanting to toss this cake half way through it....lol We'll see. Anyhow busy day tomorrow and the rest of the week.

Hello, beautiful peeps.
I was wondering if the ship-a-thon is still on.

I'm getting a few dozen B/B/S Australorp eggs from RattlesnakeRidge tomorrow(squeeeeeeeee!!!), and talking to him about shipping methods jogged my memory.

How is everyone? Miss you guys. Been so busy lately I don't even have time to gaze lovingly at myself in the mirror; forsaking household duties right now. . .

you don't have to live by that rule you can brood one and two week old chicks together no problem. we do it all the time . I would get the hatch going and have a better chance hatching chicks than loading two week old eggs . because I remember Walnuts stats a little and twenty day old eggs don't hatch that good . the thought I had was more along the lines of this . if you have two dozen eggs by Saturday. set those . start gathering again . for the next Saturday which will be the same time as your shipped eggs come in enough to fill up the turner in incubator #1 which already has week old eggs turning . you should have your dozen shipped eggs rested and ready to go . if they come on time you are only going to have a dozen eggs in the incubator . and maybe two dozen in incubator #1 when it's time to lock them down to hatch take the dozen shipped and put them in incubator #1 use #2 as your hatcher . I have confused my self hope I didn't confuse you dose this make sense ?
