She said/He said Who's right? Who's wrong? No one!

Welcome donrae! Replied to your pm.

Thanks for all the well wishes for me and hubby. I just left the hospital and he just told me they removed the heart monitor and are moving him to another room! Positive step toward going home Monday.

Giving blood... I appreciate all who do. I helped with lots of blood drives over the years and I know they screen better these days, so I hope its all safe. I have never been able to donate because I dont weigh enough.
I need to find out if that is still a stipulation. Friday, do you know if it is? Used to be like 125 pounds, I think.

I thought it was 110, but it's been a while for me. I'm a big girl, so don't ever have to worry about minimum weight requirements!

Used to donate all the time at the hospital where I worked. It was really convenient.

I ordered a dozen eggs: 8-10 Blue Wheaten Ameraucana and 2-4 Russian Orloff

No cracks, 1air call fully detatched and 4 saddled. They are resting now and will go in to the incubator tomorrow. Nice amount of extras!

Nice eggs Friday! That seems like a good batch of shipped eggs as far as air cell damage goes. I figured it was normal that most, if not all air cells would be damaged to some degree.
Guess what came today?!

I was able to keep a close eye on my hens today and figured out which eggs a couple hens are laying. My biggest OE doesn't even lay a green egg at all..

I'm not sure if she's capable of producing OE'S when bred to a BCM rooster or not. Her sister lays a nice olive egg.

I set eggs around 5:30am today, I keep checking them.. lol my husband sarcastically says.."any pipped yet?" Lol. I doubt I'll make it to 7 days before I candle.

Yes, it's 110 lbs and general good health.

Good luck!

Do you have a local Red Cross near you? I have a choice of doing it through Red Cross or the local hospital. I always took my kids and grand kids with me when I donated blood to give them gentle exposure to the concept, and they responded really well to it. Especially when they got to sit up at the big table with the rest of the donors when I was done and share a snack with me.

We're really rural, so only need about 15 committed to schedule a mobile drive. Could you join forces with an other business in your area? Perhaps a little friendly competition with your business competitors to see which business could raise up the most donations! We've done it at our church a few times. First time was for a member who had AcuteMonocyticLeukemia, and had dual cord blood transplants.
I know our VFW does drives once or twice a year and occasionally the red cross mobile unit sets up at the hospital. I don't think our hospital does it individually.

Good after noon AMY and Lazy and everybody stopped in for quick hi and gone again

. You all are such an active group I may not post a ton, but reading will sure give me lots of ideas to think about this hatching season! I'll be setting my incubator up sometime this week, it's a home made cabinet. I didn't get to use it much last year, we'll see how this season goes.

And, since you all are talking about donating blood, I'm going to chime in with a big YES PLEASE

. It took triple digits of blood product transfusions to get me through my cancer treatment over the last few years, so its a topic near and dear to my heart. And a huge THANK YOU to everyone who donates, on a regular basis or even once

Congrats on the incubator!!

Looks like the top one isn't an OE at all. Do you know the parentage? Without at least 1 parent with 2 blue egg genes (pure Ameraucana or Araucana) you only have a 50% chance of getting a green/olive layer. That bottom egg is beautiful.
