So tomorrow I lockdown my little lings!!!! I am so happy. I did lose one. And one is not looking good but it's still moving around in there.

You can't really see any veins. . So that leaves me 6 lockdown including the odd one.

Wow. It amazes me how clearly you can see into them. None of my eggs are that easy to candle. I am hoping the Appenzeller Spitzhaubens are...first white eggs I've set.

You're used to those turkey eggs. Tough to see in. Ducks were my favorite to candle. Nice big space, and they are much more active than chicks. But the clearest shells I've done were those polish. Dang near transparent

Not having fun with these shipped eggs on day 7. 8/18 are still good, the rest were clears or super early quitters. opened them all and most were scrambled. (6 BWA and 2 Orloff still hanging in there, but 1 BWA still has a really damaged air cell and I doubt the CAM will have enough space to grow towards the end.

)

In contrast, 9/10 of my homegrown eggs are doing well, one was clear. Probably not fertile, when I cracked it it looked like I had just taken it out of the refrigerator.

So 17 left on day 7. We'll see what the next 2 weeks holds.
