The auto-turn adds a good bit to the cost. My 20 will hold 24 hybrid eggs, 28 Polish, or 36 bantams

LOL. Thanks!! I was (and still am ) pysched at having a 100% lockdown rate.  Even with the set rate and only loosing one I'm happy. Definitely my best to date. The only thing that can top it is a 100% set rate, and one day I will have that too....lol

Sounds like yours is going well too!! Those are great numbers.  I hope you have just as good!!  How many do you have in there??

You definitely did well! I have 11 after tossing clears. He gave me a dozen and 4 extra, but honestly the "extra," ones I separated in the incubator only because they were in a separate carton, and not a single one was fertile. I'm OK with that though, I paid $50 for 12- and im locking down 11. But hey you can't fertileize eggs that aren't, right? They either are or they're not fertile.

I didn't get any copper marans this weekend... Hubby says in the fall, besides I'd rather get eggs and hatch them myself

- I don't have time for another hatch before my boys come, could be sooner than later.

I'm thinking of my own crossing expirements now, hence why I was asking the other week what to cross for an EE... I wanted to do OE at some point too hence the copper marans.

Well, I'm supposed to be locking down Friday for Monday hatch with you, yes!  That is IF my bator cooperates.  I just started having temperature issues, so I am debating on buying a new bator today or making something to suffice for this hatch, and ordering something better for next time.  All I can find locally are Farm Innovators and Little Giants, and I'm not thrilled about any of them. 


But up until this point, mine was going pretty well also.  And same here with humidity a little low, and have started adding just a touch of water.  Air cells are plenty big, development looks good.  Had to work today, so I'm making stops on my way home to see what I can come up with.

I think the horror stories about styrofoam are more LG related. You don't hear much bad about Hovabators. I think LG just uses crappy components
