I hear you though, it's like a gamble either way. I'm liking this old hovabator I have, it's forced air, and has been holding well. Honestly I've heard the horror stories of the styrofoam, but I've been happy so far (knock on wood) maybe you can check Craigslist?

Are your temps dropping? Or spiking?

Yea, but I'll never hold a candle to Amy, so ya know... My sister-in-law has 2 different LG's and does fine in them. I asked her which she liked best and she said the old one lol.
Checked CL, nothing worth writing about. Temps "were" dropping. The heater was showing that it was on, but the temp wasn't coming up. When I got home from work, it was fine, and hadn't gone out of range all day. Keeping my fingers crossed, but have been working on a DIY cooler-bator all evening anyway. Just in case.
And I think one of your posts said 11 eggs? Me too! lol

12! All my shipped eggs made it to lockdown except for 2 clears and 1 that had a crack (I tried to put wax on it but it had a red ring by day 4). Thanks for asking!!
This is exactly what I did!! Then I upgraded the free 2 day shipping to next day and it only cost $5!!! I was going to cancel after the trial but honestly, I forgot and I love it now!!

I think the horror stories about styrofoam are more LG related. You don't hear much bad about Hovabators. I think LG just uses crappy components

Amy, I'm borrowing this hovabator, and I'm thinking of buying my own by next hatch. That'll probably be September-ish so I have time to think.
