Great article. Not a whole lot of help if you're not using an incubator, though:/

Is that you in your avatar? You sound older than you look. I'm glad you're joining in some now

No, that's my older daughter. I'm the same age as AmyLynn, with whom I share a middle name :)

Yea, they are pretty adorable.  Thanks!  Yes, I did hatch these 4, along with one turkey, back in March.  They are almost 12 weeks old.  And they are joined at the hips!  Never too far from each other.  While in the brooder, they hated when I pulled one out for pictures!  Flip out is a good description.  They aren't "scared" of me now, and they will run toward me when go toward them, but still don't want to be held.  They don't mind me rubbing their bills or necks while giving them treats, but that's about it.  I think ducks are just that way, unless you have house ducks.  I know they love me though. lol

What's up with your hatch????????

I read an article on how if you hatch multiple ducks they will strongly imprint on their siblings and have you as a friend. But if you only hatched one duck or goose (I'm not suggesting anyone do that) that it would solely imprint on you and never mate with other ducks/geese. I thought that was pretty powerful!!

I have 3 more pips!!!! So 4 all together! The first one is rocking around but not zipping yet! I LOVE hatch day!! :)

Hi everyone! Sorry I've been MIA- I practically live at the Drs. office this past week. I get a day off today though haha!

I was relaxing last night finally, and I thought "Amy's hatch!"

Haha so I read and caught up since last night, congrats on the hatch Amy! You are very good at this hatching thing. I'm following your method so I expect a good hatch, LOL. But in all seriousness I hope mine goes as well this weekend too.
WV- aren't we both locking down this weekend? Your hatch day is also Monday evening correct?

I have added no water to my hovabator- I am staying mostly between 30%-40%- it did drop to 22-25% the other day. I added one TBSP of water, just a few drops in each reservoir. Brought it up to 40% or so and stayed at 35%. Didn't add anymore water since, after it rained yesterday it was up to 40% buy dropped back to 35%. So far air cells were on point for day 14- or so it looks to me. All eggs are pretty dark but the ones I could see toward the air cell were moving. Fingers crossed this goes well.

LOL. Thanks!! I was (and still am ) pysched at having a 100% lockdown rate. Even with the set rate and only loosing one I'm happy. Definitely my best to date. The only thing that can top it is a 100% set rate, and one day I will have that too....lol

Sounds like yours is going well too!! Those are great numbers. I hope you have just as good!! How many do you have in there??
