She said/He said Who's right? Who's wrong? No one!

Things aren't okay yet but this forum is a welcome distraction. My son's been having seizures...pretty scary stuff since he's only 5. We meet with another specialist for a second opinion as soon as the next referral goes through and there's an MRI coming up...

Oh, no!! Nothing I can say or do to help that... but... :hugs :hugs

Thank you :hugs :hugs :hugs back....it's been too long. I'm distracting myself from that a bit by trying to hatch with a broody for the first time. :) a blrw hatching BBS Ameraucana eggs.

Hatching is a good distraction... must be why I have so many Calls now... :gig

So sorry to hear that. My niece used to have seizures when she was younger. Speaking of jaw surgery, she had a seizure once while standing and fell and broke her jaw. Needed lots of surgeries. That was a stressful time. Luckily she outgrew them and they never found the root cause. I know what a wreck her mom was during those years. Lots of :hugs
:fl for your eggs!

So sorry to hear that, Seizures are so scary and its not easy to figure out the reasons for them and/or the right treatment.

Take care of yourself as you go through the process. :hugs

Hey y'all,
Sorry I've been away so long...maybe long enough for everyone to forget me. My son's been having medical issues so I've been giving that my undivided attention...and I'm recovering from jaw surgery. I'm behind by 35k posts....wow!
Welcome back. Sorry to hear that.

for your eggs!
They never found out what the cause was???

Often times seizure disorders have no cause they can find. And sometimes they are very difficult to diagnose because most doctors don't see the patient actually seizing. I have had a seizure disorder since I was 22 years old (I'm 65 now) and in all that time have only had one EEG show anything. So tests aren't always accurate either. Most of the time the only way a diagnosis is made is information given by the patient and those around him/her. You're right, it is frustrating!

Mine were most likely caused by a very close lightening strike. My daughter-in-law has severe gran mal seizures and they have never found a cause for them. Granddaughter Kendra also has seizures - sometimes 5 or 10 in an hour. She was born with Spina Bifida and has hydrocephalus. Seizures are scary, and when the cause can't be found they can be more than scary!
