She said/He said Who's right? Who's wrong? No one!

Sidewing, congrats on the pip! What time are you leaving tomorrow? It's gonna be bittersweet pulling away during the hatch! Oh man, it would kill me!

Your leaving as your babies hatch???!!!

Thank you guys so much for this info. It's exactly what I was looking for. In the grow out cage I have them in, there is a little shelf, I was trying to keep the water on it so that it wouldn't get filled with straw. But they would knock it off at night and both snuggle up on the shelf. I have a roost in there but I'm thinking now that's its too narrow. It's made for a parrot. I'm going to find a wider piece of wood and try to train them to go on that at night. I want them to be used to roosting when I put them out in the coop.
I use flat wood planks.

A lot of other threads will fuss if you ask a question that has already been asked, or could be searched. We aren't like that. If you have a specific question, it's much easier to just ask the question than it is to try and search a thread, then search that thread for the answer. There's no way anyone will read the whole thread (well, except sjturner

, that's got OCD written all over it

), so if anyone is lurking and has a question, just jump right in

One egg rocking and a rolling and a chirping this morning. Today's the day I hope!

I'm having the same struggle with which way to go! I really want to build my own, but I really want a Brinsea too... Dangit... would doing both be really really bad?? Probably so.

Wow, that's excellent to have that many shipped eggs ALL make it to lockdown!

And that's hilarious! Kids are always texting unless you really need them to answer you. Then its like they fell off the face of the earth. Drives me insane! I bet your daughter will keep you posted though.

Here are some pics finally caught her out walking around with her babies she hatched 3

Awe!
I plan on using a broken wine cooler!!! That way I can see everything. LoL!!!

That's what I want!!
Super cute!
I do like rabbit. I think it tastes like turkey. But these little fluff balls are 2-3 pounds max. For pure cuteness. I would eat a NZ rabbit in a heartbeat, but I also hunt furry things and they are delicious.

WOW!

It is probably the best meat as far as flavor AND texture. Moose is closer in flavor to beef, but it's pretty grainy and a little tougher.
I tried Buffalo sticks once. I wasn't impressed...tasted nothing like a slim Jim.

@AmyLynn2374 I would move the nest boxes if you can - That might get them back in use. The chooks at the farm pick a new spot to lay eggs every few months.
Thanks. I'll put that on my list of things to try.

I'm not in any way opposed to huning as long as the animal is being used. I hate people who kill just for sport and pictures, especially hunting retreats with practically tame animals.

Mine are black/splash Swedish and flightless. But they can sure boogie across the yard!

They are cool looking.

300 Win Mag with a Bushnell XTR scope. I shot this bull across the canyon from 670 yards ranged.

We use everything we can and we process it ourselves. I want my family to understand what goes into harvesting animals and that the animal had a form of intelligence and that taking life is no small thing. I take kids every year and teach them how to respect the animals and have a good level of reverence for it.

I hate to say this in public, but I could watch them for hours. I've been sitting out on the lawn while the sun goes down and watching them while the sun goes down. They are funny creatures.

Was a good sized wild turkey for our area. And mine was bigger than DH's lol. 11-12" beard, 1-1/2" spurs. Heavy beast. The bad thing was that it had apparently been shot previously. The breast was green/black and gelled looking. No way were we eating it, dangit.

That's huge. And pretty..... lol

Oh, this is too rich. I was trying to decide between to incubators earlier, and started to ask in here, but didn't want to make a faux pas, so I have been researching on my own, every chance I get. Decided to drop in here to try and halfway catch up(no chance!) and this was the first post it brought me to when I loaded the thread.

You're really asking for it, sc! We're free! We're free!!

Nice!!!! I am quite "jelly" myself. I went turkey hunting this year for the first time and it was a big ol goose egg. Nothing! Heard nothing. Saw nothing....it sucked. But I will try again next year!!!! LOL!!!!

Every year the turkeys walk across my property and drive my dogs nuts, I gotta buy a gun.

LUCKY!!

About 7 miles down the road, a friend of ours had a bunch of wild hogs troubling his animals. He caught one of the sows in a trap and when all of the rest would come out at night to see about her, he would just pick em off, one by one. Only thing we got around here are rabbits and coyotes.

This was only my second one ever! First one was with a bow! This one with the rifle. Lucky shot with the bow though, I swear. I wasn't even really sure where to aim. I was deer hunting and this huge flock of turkeys came under my stand. Couldn't help but try lol. And I got it on video! Lol
