Was a good sized wild turkey for our area. And mine was bigger than DH's lol. 11-12" beard, 1-1/2" spurs. Heavy beast. The bad thing was that it had apparently been shot previously. The breast was green/black and gelled looking. No way were we eating it, dangit.
These portal doors are just the coolest thing, IMO. At first, the chicks are in a seperate pen with the doors closed. But they can see the flock and the flock can see them. Then, when the chicks are old enough, the doors are opened and they can mingle with the flock but can safely return to their pen without the bigger ones being able to follow.
So I realized like 2 weeks ago that there was a space between the young chickens run and the main run that the young chickens could get through. I closed it...so now I gotta open it again, which is no problem. I went into the main run and found one of my 3 week olds in there, and nobody seemed to care, but when I got close to the 3 week old, he ran right back to that "portal"...so I get what you're saying

A lot of other threads will fuss if you ask a question that has already been asked, or could be searched. We aren't like that. If you have a specific question, it's much easier to just ask the question than it is to try and search a thread, then search that thread for the answer. There's no way anyone will read the whole thread (well, except sjturner, that's got OCD written all over it

Oh, this is too rich. I was trying to decide between to incubators earlier, and started to ask in here, but didn't want to make a faux pas, so I have been researching on my own, every chance I get. Decided to drop in here to try and halfway catch up(no chance!) and this was the first post it brought me to when I loaded the thread.
