She said/He said Who's right? Who's wrong? No one!

Ahhh....ok not the commercial Cornish crosses. That explains a lot. But they are way too old for starter no matter what they are!

Yeah not that hefty!!! lOL!!!! So what should I put them now that they are older? I read the packaging and its says until laying age around 18 weeks so I was just going with that. And plus they get scraps all the time.

Not even worth the smack...
So, what is funny to you?
There's a lot I find funny. Usually I find you funny. Usually..... I prefer family friendly mostly. I like grown up comedy, I just don't like a lot of "F" this and "f" that in dialogue. That's why I like Blue Collar so much. It's hilarious, but clean. I hate gross things and people acting like idiots.

Prolly smackin you back!

True....lol

Guess I can get pretty vulgar on my own sometimes, too. lol Not an issue with me as long as no kids are around.

lol, niiiiceeee.

Why are comedians so self-destructive?
Just can't take all those people laughing at them, I guess.

This guy is never vulgar, but always funny. Another hilarious man that the world is a little sadder without.

So I went to the gym today

listen first! First listen!
Since February I've been going to the gym five or six days a week
I don't like it. I go because I want to be healthier.
I have such a long road ahead of me.
I lost a hundred pounds... and people say to me
"Wow! We can really see it in your face."

How big was my head before I started this journey?
Apparently I was the Kool-Aid man. Nobody ever said anything to me.
Oh yeah, Kool-Aid's here

That's John, his head is the size of a manhole cover. We don't talk about it though.
(Shhh)

And I just can't let Carlin be mentioned without mentioning this fine fellow:

I've seen him before. He was funny.

Howard Stern. A lot of people hate him, but you have to listen for a while to figure out how smart the guy really is. He changed radio
Out of everyone, I think I hate him the most.

If Damien had gone after Amy's eye, he would have pulled it out and made her look at herself

I can't wait to see those when they feather out! I was torn between Wheaten and BBS. I just got lucky on the BBS, so now we can compare notes

That's just not right!!! lol

Anyone notice we were #1 yesterday?

WooHoo!

Ahhh....ok not the commercial Cornish crosses. That explains a lot. But they are way too old for starter no matter what they are!

I start with a bag medicated starter crumbles, once that's done I switch to the regular starter/grower then around 12 weeks I switch to the grower finisher until they lay then move to the layer crumbles.

Just don't give them anything else...they'll figure out what goes down and what doesn't. My last 3 took nearly 6 days before I actually saw them eat food.

My flock was originally a special dual-purpose breed, and I got 50:50 cockerels:poults. So I grew the cockerels onto 16 weeks (as the hatchery recommended) and had them processed. They dressed out to 2-2.5Kg, which I priced at C$10/Kg. IOWs, they ended up being ~C$25/bird. The only complaints I got were that the birds were too big, as several people were buying for their own single seat at the table. This time around I plan on culling some females at 10 weeks, and charging C$12/Kg for them...as they will both be better sized for single people, and I'm told will possess a more tender meat. The roos I will grow on to 14 weeks and then process...yielding a slightly smaller bird than last time.

I'm really hoping the fermented feed yields a better meat:carcass ratio given the birds don't have to work hard to process the food.

A local grocery store sells Organic whole chickens for $11/Kg.

I think it's a bid odd you got complaints for them being too big. Usually people are demanding more for their money. Now they want less? Do they not have a fridge for the left overs?

Those Cornish Crosses look terribly wrong and unnatural. I just imagine them being Chick-zillas and wandering around the city pecking people. Is that what the grocery stores usually carry when people buy chicken?

I knew you would hate Howard, and I won't smack you for it, he's not for everyone, but I love the guy.
People acting like idiots is what comedy is. Some people just like different idiots

Okay!!! I need to upgrade my youngins!!!! LoL!!!!! So I need to find grower finisher. I do not know if the place I buy from has that.

I agree with you on this. It just gets to be too much and takes away from the funniness. That's why I love Brian Regan. Really funny, without all the F bombs.

Speaking of him....do you see the link I posted last night, SC??

I can "just leave them" because I'm not pounding them between the rails with a hammer
big_smile.png

That foam pad isn't a necessity, so if you don't like it, don't use it next time. How were the candling results?

Candling results are great. I have 8 eggs which are questionable; 4 might be red rings, 4 might be clears...so assuming they are what I worry they are, I'm looking at a 90.48% hatch rate...hopefully no lower than that.

As for the rails, yeah, definitely not going to use them again. I will just use foam strips between the eggs next time. I don't usually use X-Large eggs in the bator, but this time I did have to use some to fill it up...and they were kinda clumped together...so again, my fault not really Brinsea's.

I'm glad you reminded me! I meant to reply last night, then forgot. My two favorite lines of his are
"When's the ba...by..... due?"
And
"You too! You too, you have a nice flight, too. In case you ever fly someday."
