I got the dust problem handled (only use chips), but the longer you leave them in the brooder the worse it gets. I had 19 in my brooder for 3 weeks and all smelled fine...during the 4th week I had to clean out everything and replace all wood chips...I honestly think its what I said, at week 3 they go into eating mode full time...which of courses leads to the resulting out-come. Nobody is staying inside past the middle of week 3 here.


He is awesome, I am so impressed, and humble too!! Dang, now I sure hope he's a he.

I use care fresh and paper towels for the first 2 weeks then switch to Koop Clean, it's PDZ straw. You think that's why there's so much dust?

I thought Walnut was female. I could be wrong. I just keep thinking she'd be pretty cool to have as a mom!

Fair enough then I'm living down south but never been to Brit or USA.

My school teacher, when I was in 4th grade, went to Australia during the school year, and I always said some day I would make it there. Never did. Not likely ever to do so now. Guess if I ever do, I should plan a trip when its cold here and warm there. It was hot here today!

No, she's a she. This is why I try not to use gender reference until I hear "my husband" or "my wife" cause I've pictured many as the opposite and that's usually how I find out different then thank God I didn't say anything...lol
