She said/He said Who's right? Who's wrong? No one!

So that one loves the camera! They. Are getting so big.
My CCL rooster did that at 8 weeks. Scared the mess out of me.

Yes, I've been calling that frizzled one Prissy lol. She is the friendliest little thing.
And I need to take some pics that show perspective, because they are so tiny. Especially the little black one!

Any action in the incubator yet?

Ruby, pls tell me/us about that transition...maybe we can each tell each other what to look out for.
I definitely will. But my 7 wk olds are the oldest I have. So they will be the trail blazers. I'm not integrating them with an already existing flock.
New pics of my babies... almost 3 weeks old
They look great!! Polish tolbunts, right?
@AmyLynn2374 So, my 'bator setup is a bit risky come hatch time for wandering chooks:
700
I have a copper coil as a heat sink and to keep eggs from rolling off the ledge when the time comes but I am wondering: how soon is too soon to stick them in the brooder? Should you wait until they are puffy or is it ok to relocate them immediately after they hatch during their post hatch nap?
I read that the soonest you can take them out is 1 hour. The fear is that if they are still wet, they can get a chill and it could be lethal. But I've also read that after that first hour in the bator, they dry quicker in the brooder because of the lower humidity. But I don't have personal experience with removing them that quickly.

OMG! I have to tell you guys the funniest thing! I got up to go to the bathroom this morning and this horrible noise was coming from the chicks. I swear I thought one was dying! I was scared to look! Three times I heard this horrible sound. I finally get to the living room to see my 7 week old trying to crow! Needless to say, HE needs a lot of practice because he sounds like a dying animal!

That's funny! My 10 week olds went in with a few of our young layers who weren't laying, I split them off so they could eat more and finish growing out. The youngsters are afraid of the bossy ISA Browns and if a hen so much as looks as them they turn, duck, and run. If I am in the coop they are as brave as can be, so I stand out there for a bit to ensure they have food and water. But the boys are not even trying to crow. It might be the two big and tough sounding roos in the next coop that are holding them back...

Nothing yet. Just some shakers and every now and then a cheep. But no external pips just yet. We are about to leave for church in a minute. So maybe some when I get back.

Day 20, 2 external pips so far...
