YOU would love it!!!!!!!! Its an app you can get!! You should get it! Then we will dual!!
I think we may get along better as couples. I bet I would like your husband, and you would like my wife.
I will check out the app. It's just called Trivia Crack? If you have to be on FB to play each other, that ain't happening

It's a big FB thing, but I think you can have the app sent to your mobile.
Google it.

My first few hatches, I assisted 5 or 6. Had to cull all but two before they were 5 days old. All were late hatchers. Culling a cute, fluffy chick is tough, and is just not something I want to do again. Since buying the Brinsea, I have not had to cull any, but I also have a drop dead shutdown of day 23. I see Amy's side, too, and your experience is a perfect example of success, but I have had far more heartbreak than success. I felt bad for WV on her last chick. Early on, when she said it was dragging it's leg, I knew what was coming. I know you want to give them every chance you can, but you end up getting so attached to the one you are trying to save that it's even worse when you have to put it down. That's why I don't assist, but you assisted and it worked.
"She said, he said... no one's wrong"

Yes! I know what you mean. You work with a weak animal and it accepts your help=a bond. I was wondering if I would actually be able to put it down myself. I think I'd have to shoot it. Seems the least painful way for both of us. If I really had a strong bond with an animal, I'd probably bring it to the vet down the road and pay to have her to put it to sleep. That's my worst case scenario, if I couldn't bring myself to put down a specific animal. I did have a pet guinea pig that was suffering in pain. He was old and screaming out during convulsions. I didn't have the money then to have the ver put it down. So I gave it an adult dose cocktail of pain meds/Valium. It went to sleep and didnt wake up. I didn't have a gun then either. That's the downside to having animals.

Awesome!  Yes, turkeys are sometimes like that, once in a while one seems to take a little longer and need a little more help in getting started.  While I could just allow them to die, since most of my turkeys are raised for meat, every one that lives and grows is worth saving.

I generally tag my breeders before they are two weeks old, and none of the challenged ones make it into that category.

Congrats on the late addition, and yes, if the egg was old or had been chilled before incubating then it could easily be behind.  Nice to be able to know what is happening inside, isn't it?

Yes, I learned a lot this hatch about the air cell during lockdown. I've never candled during lockdown before and with your explanations I am able to understand the whole process at the end!

Oh, and turkeys really want a mommy...maybe peas are the same way?  I bet they'd do great with a broody.  A turkey poult left alone is cold, afraid, trembling, and depressed.  Snuggle them and they perk right up.  Sorry, SC...maybe not your style but if I go through the trouble of heating the incubator for 4 weeks, the little guys are going to get a lot of attention afterward.  After two or three weeks they just go to the coop and they become turkeys.

Yes, yes, yes! You should read some of the pea threads! Some people go out of their minds! End up sleeping with the peachicks in their hair every night and very angry husbands. I picked up a feathered boa at the dollar store too. Experienced owners have said that helps with the crying and also closing the door and ignoring them sometimes. Because they will cry for mom a LOT!

Its not just a facebook thing. But I may surprise you......for our 5 wedding anniversary we went bear hunting in Petersville AK and when we woke the next morning we were sleeping in an inch of water because the snow had melted through the tent and we were so miserably cold.

I'm not saying I wouldn't like you. I don't think you would like me

Not that you would hate me, but you are too sweet. My wife loves to fish as much or more than I do. You would love her. She doesn't just bait her own hook, she cuts her own bait

I like these little online personality assesments, so here we go. My gut feelings on some key players

Amy: No offense, but you and I both know that we would despise each other in person
gig.gif

WV and sidewing: We would do shots
thumbsup.gif

Ruby and Ross: They would wave at me when they walked by, but they would keep walking. Ruby would cover her kids ears
gig.gif

Walnut would be my mentor, and once she fed me she would never get rid of me
droolin.gif

BYC 910: We'll be sitting by the lake, fishing rods in hand, drinking beer

silkiecuddles: Would pray for me

gachooks: We would love each other for about an hour, then we would get on our own nerves. Who could handle a female scflock?

HiyokuInNippon: Not certain, but pretty sure she would hate me, too
gig.gif

Yorkshire: Hmmmm? Can't quite figure her out. I think she finds me amusing, but annoying. Our incubation techniques are almost identical, but I think she prefers talking to Amy

I may venture more guesses as the names come to me
Toss a few shots, a cooler full of good beer (bottles only) and a fishing pole my way and you're on...
