She said/He said Who's right? Who's wrong? No one!

I must have missed this. I was thinking how does SC know whats going on in my house. I know I didn't talk about how bored my kids are and how they are driving me crazy!....then I saw....
I'm in the same boat!! Kids home all day, always bored even though they have a million more things to keep them busy then I had when I was a kid!! I still have 6 weeks to go! You're a lot closer to school starting then me! Have fun on your trip!
You both missed it. I like to make vague references to see who will get it or not. It was explained in my last post

Looks very nice! I need your guess on my 3. They are almost all white, but have some black feathers randomly scattered. What's the deal with that? Hard to see in this pic, I'll try to get a better one soon, but this is all I have right now.
Hi, thanks on my setup! Now as for yours too young yet to tell and I wouldn't hazard a guess yet at them. The crests on the centre one and the one to the left say boy the one to the right says girl. But this is just a guess and not gospel. I've got one just like them in this batch of chicks. It's just like your centre one exactly the same crest and everything, even the odd black spot in it. I sold the other one like it and the lady emailed some pics and hers too has the odd black spot. It really is like you have the twin to mine :gig Mine hatched out of a WCB hens egg she is in with the silver lace roo. I'm thinking and this too is just a guess as genetics are really not my thing. Is that the black and white on both parent birds will produce either a white or black chick? I'm not sure though on this maybe a bit more research would help me. If I had more room I would love to breed for pure colour of each chick. But for now it has to be mixed bunch, this does add for a little variety though. I've hot a gold lace chick but it has a white crest coming in, I'm very interested to see how it's going to turn out and it's my fav little chick.

Remember that old song "Who shot the sheriff?" It's been coming to mind more and more often these days.

Oh please, that was nothing...
Reminds me, though, whatever happened to Fowling Around and Munsterchicks?

We have at least 2 new members
chicapee went to a wedding where her son looked just like the groom
ruby's peachicks are doing great
I finished a new coop
Two kids are running around and screaming because it's boring at home

All in all, a typical weekend on "she said/ he said"

I've not been posting as much just lately, here is so hard to keep up with, really. I pop over to the new members section for a while and the next thing you know a million new posts are on here!

No more chicks sold yet

Which means no incubator on right now. Having my withdrawal symptoms from it!! Have had to make a temporary run around brooding shed as they are out growing that now. Outside is a scary world for them. They are getting used to it now and enjoying some sun, when it's out.

I think my so is having withdrawl too...lol I buy the rubber shelf liner for the bottom of my bator and we were in the Dollar store today over by where they are and he says, "Hmm, which one are we going to use for the next one?"

You, my friend, are full blown team red

I was thinking the same thing...lol

I will be going to Jacksonville Fl tomorrow for one night!!! Its a girls getaway weekend. I am looking forward to this. LoL!!! Maybe then my 2 kids wont be running around scream because its so boring!! I can not wait for school to start in 3 weeks and 3 days!!!! LoL!!! Then I will just have a 3 year old to chase around.

That's where my family is from! If you see anyone with the surname Campbell (caucasion...lol) tell them Amy said hi....lol I have so much family there, I don't know half of them. My dad had 10 siblings and most of them stayed and raised their families there and a good share of their kids are still there...lol

Oh crap I didn't turn my eggs at nine gotta do it now! Can't wait for dh to make a candler for me so I can tell if things are a happenin' and they've been in there as of today 10 days...
I just use a good flashlight.

I figured rossfam for a gang member.

Bummed to hear about NT styro hatch, but it seems like he did much better than the last hatch. I'm starting to wonder about the parent stock. I had 11 out of 14 hatch and healthy in my styro.

Hi Amy.

Cakes looked awesome.

I did think that was the groom yes. I had to read closely.

New coop is painted? Pink again?

I hope you have a great time rossfam. I'm dreading school starting, but I leave to work everyday too.

Our chickens started laying this last week or so and we got 8 eggs in two days. Here we go!
Congrats! Awesome!

Haha! Nut, i think ill hafta choose both, i am researching proper incubation means

What kind of bator?? If you are not high altitude and don't have a Brinsea I strongly recommend a low humidity incubation!!

I get a lot of double yolkers in young hens, not so much after the first year. I get a few random blood spots, but not many. It's really nothing to be concerned about unless you get them frequently
I have only had one double yolker from my hens so far.

Better let him out before he calls his friends

I def took into account this area and i have had mostly dry conditions. I read where carbon can help as a stablizer right? I have fish that Require carbon so that is On Hand and i put a cup of it in there and i hope to stablize a lil better :D thanks for the tip though if i hadnt read so much of Your stuff i would not feel Nearly ad comfortable w/ my styro

I have no idea but those chickens are awesome.

I don't worry about them, but I'm worried about customers getting them when the boys start selling the eggs.

Did I ask you who I should buy BCM eggs from yet? I need to get some on the way so they can be ready by spring.

You did, and I forgot to reply. I'm trying to remember the name. There is one BYC member that has awesome reviews of her BCM eggs, both hatch rates and quality of chickens. Let me go see if I can find it...

Sheriff would be one of the screaming kids. Dan would be the other. I like them both, but the sheriff thing is a bit much. No one has said anything downright disrespectful, and if 20 or 30 adults can't talk to each other without using Disney words, then a lot of my material will be taken away
I have actually been looking at some other (chicken) forums where adults can speak freely (but w/o vulgarity) because I am tired of being called out on minor things such as everyday language. I think "family friendly" is great and I totally agree on having a forum where vulgarity, sexually explicit talk and/or images are prohibited, heck, I can even agree with a ban on the use of a certain word, but when I'm starting to feel like I am a big sister and hearing "Mommy...she said this, mommy she did that" and I'm not down with that.

Carbon, for lowering humidity? I believe it was Ruby who just found some in the dollar store (ours carries it too) and used it to lower the humidity during incubation. I have never had my bator run more than 40-45% dry at any time, usually it stays 25-40% dependingon the season. The 9300.....I'm so sorry...lol The LG's are more work, but you can get good hatches, regardless of what some others say. It might take a couple not so good hatches to get a hang of the bator and learn it's quirks, but if you have them in a stable environment and can get a fairly steady temp, it's totally doable.
