That's what I do. Sometimes I leave them in the container I freeze it in.Man is it hot today! I sat with the chickens for a few mins and my two oldest ones jumped on my lap and I could feel the heat coming off their feet through my jeans!! I froze veggie ice blocks today too!!! I wanted to ask you, how do you give them to the chickens? Just put them on the ground?
How has your temp and humidity been?![]()
I just had one like that except is was a peafowl egg. Please update, I'm curious to see if it makes progress on its own. I waited 24 hours then assisted.
I liked this story! I saw the whole thing in my head. Good to know a way to get a predator!
Yes!!! I've noticed this. The paper towel gets freezing cold almost instantly and then makes the humidity in the incubator skyrocket to 100%. I was not a fan of the paper towel last time!
What color are the eggs? I'm thinking there's a red ring in there that may be hard to see. I hand turn all my eggs (no auto turner) x & o, just twist from one side to the other.
What kind of death? Unless they are a large dark spot stuck to one side of the egg the problem is not likely to be turning. If you have tossed the eggs out of the bator I hope you just seeing them wrong.
Good luck on getting your hen
Oh no, trust me!! I know how chickens chicks cry...this is a whole other level of crying!! I should try to get a video clip. You guys will die!
Sorry your hatch is not going well. It 's fact of hatching and chicken raising you will lose chicks chickens. eggs will start to develop and die whatever you raise it stinks even if you hatch your on eggs they cost you time and money . NTB's egg looks like humidity was to high to me. the heat is so bad here we are lifting the top on the incubators mid day to keep the eggs from getting to hot. and still temps hit 103 humidity is running 50 to 60% during incubation and at lookdown I'm waiting for strong pips before raising it to hatch. In spite of all that my hatch went well 18 live out of 25 once again I had sticky chicks 7 in all that I had to help they started zipping and stuck 6 of those were BCMs the high humidity affects them the most I think you might be getting temp spikes .that coupled with high humidity is the reason for last weeks no hatch. last year my hatch rates were really bad incubators full of eggs and only hatched 4 or 5 brought BCM's off ebay 30 of them and hatched 1 Rooster. I was hot I called Farm innovators and grilled them about why and asked a lot of other questions they could not answer I figured out that I did not need water at all in my incubators the ambient humidity was already to high I joined byc and learned My hatching humidity was to low . I don't trust any thermometer made to be right or hygrometer for that matter ck ck ck and re ck them what I've done to over come low hatch rates is become a hatching fool don't give up get aggressivegood luck with the egg

That wasn't me being mean Mr. Flock to be funny. That's my philosophy, and the number one reason Amy and I started this thread. Y'all have your ways, I have mine, and we present both sides.
So YOU shut YOUR face
