Excellent!! That is exactly why we wanted to start this thread. To help new hatchers find their comfort zone and see that hatching is not black and white. That there is leeway and that doing things differently is not necessarily a bad thing. Finally finished reading this thread! Literally, took a week. I'm so happy that both Amy & SC are there to help us newbies. You both may have different techniques but that's what's great for someone that is still learning and trying to get the best hatch possible. I've taken a lot of info from Amy about humidity & assisted hatches. I also love my Brinsea (had to return the styrofoam incubator after 24hrs) and felt most comfortable taking SC's advice on leaving the chicks in the incubator overnight. So I thank you both, you've helped me find my own way that I'm happy with! I'm on day 5 of my second batch. Not far behind you Amy! Love the candling pics. You guys kinda lost me with all the accent & dialect talk. I'm from NY...hope I don't sound like Snookie!!Love the video Amy!!!![]()

It's raining here. Luckily I have a porch to BBQ on...lol Can't wait to see how both incubations go.Thank you for the tips! Good point with the sponges, it would be much easier I reduce humidity by removing them. I am due middle of August, but they won't let me go later than the first week of August if I make it that far (twins usually come a month to two weeks early)
I'm going to set my eggs in a little while. Ive been running the bator for a few hours, I'm running dry and I have two thermometer and hygrometers, humidity is right below 20% running dry, so maybe I'll throw in a small container with a little sponge to get it up a bit. I didn't think I'd be able to run completely dry because it has been record setting dry here the past few weeks. Maybe by miracle we'll get some rain!
