She said/He said Who's right? Who's wrong? No one!

I had that problem last year with EE's I brought 28 from the local farmers Co op 8 of them turned out to be roosters I told them that's the first time I ever heard a pullet crow & they said A b---------- woman and a crowing hen comes to no good end. they also said well you can sell them. also got 30 SLW's had 2 in it they got me good the SLWs are junk to boot .5 more to go before they are gone . our kids went to school together I can't believe they did that to me. I learn fast and they knew I was hot. I'll never buy another bird from them. while my EEs aren't show birds at least they lay a nice blue egg that's a good size.my customers love those. I need to know to create a link from my member page to the DIY page anyone know how to do that. also just a picture or 2 light hatch this week only 7 chicks 6 EEs 1 BCM better than none
Aw, babies!
So catch up on candling pics. Some of them are ok, but it's at that hard to see stage, anyway, here they are: Yesterday day 7: Today, Day 8:
Those are good pics! You're using an LED flashlight, yes?

Glad you joined us in here. You are going to have to carry the Brinsea torch for us in June. Chick sales have slowed down, so I've got 50 to grow out to no-heat selling size. I think I'm going to slow down for the first time since Christmas. My BCM pullets should start laying any day now, and the cockerel is starting to crow, so hopefully I can compare my technique with Amy's pullet experiment by the end of the month. This is my first batch of BCM, so I need to get some feet on the ground so I can grow them out over the winter and start working on them. This will be the first flock I have ever culled. One of my "pullets" started crowing, so I named him Smokey

May be a new experience on the scflock farm
I LOVE BCMs! When I first decided to incubate, I didn't even think I was going to keep the chickens. My girlfriend said she would take them to add to her flock. So I asked her to tell me what breed hatching eggs to get because they were going to be hers. She wanted silkies. So I researched and found a good breeder for silkies. Of course as I started incubating and charting temp/humidity, I really got attached to these little eggs. Before they even hatched I had the feeling to keep them. After hatch I was sold! During the incubation period I started researching chicken breeds. I fell in love with the BCMs & those dark eggs! They are definitely my next project down the road. Sorry you had to cull them. Why did you? Were they getting to old or needed new breeding lines? I shall carry the Brinsea torch! ;)

Nice job candling your hand, too! That is some bright light! Hard to believe the chicks don't hatch with sunglasses on!

Can someone tell me how to do multiple quotes in one reply?? I'm on a cell phone and can't seem to figure it out.

I wanted to add that when my first 2 children were born, I lived in southwest Florida. One was born end of July & one in September. Oh god, those summers in Florida being 9 months pregnant were the worst! I had my last baby this past December in New York. It was so nice going into winter being warm & toasty all the time. Everyone always said how cold my house was but I felt fine! Lol. Good luck on the twins in August...congratulations!

You may not be able to on the cell...on the pc between the ovation and the quote buttons is a multiple button. You click multiple on the ones you want to quote and the last one you click quote. I never post from my POS phone...lol

did this as an experiment. To multi quote from the phone, just keep tapping the quotes of the posts you want to quote and they keep adding up. It's still a pain, because to respond individually you have to go back and click between the individual quotes. No small feat with my thick fingers.
Speaking of fingers, how 'bout queenie's dainty little mitts? Those poor eggs...
POS phone? Quite the mouth on you, young lady
