Haha, where are you from again? Is the SC in your name for South Carolina? Is that even the south?
.That's how I can tell early with mine. Most of mine are good ole barnyard mixes, so there's no auto sexing here. My last hatch I went by the size/color of comb and wattles, or the size of the comb space in the other comb types. I had mine figured out before the crowing and laying...lol I am having a heck of a time with the Spitzhaubens, but I think I am finally getting a clue where gender is concerned.
Out of the 9 barnyard mixes I kept from the easter hal, I am pretty sure that 2 are roos and the rest are hens. Now I have to sort out the Spitzhaubens.
I'll take pictures later, when the husband gets home. Side by side I feel it's obvious.
