From most of what I read though, you don't start having problems until/unless you are inbreeding for generations. I don't know how many different spitzhauben hens/roos the girl has that I got the eggs from, but I plan on keeping the best 4 girls and 2 boys and eventually I will start breeding with them. I would somewhere along the line try to find a decently priced spitz from another line with more standard leg color to breed the leg color back in as these have diluted leg coloring (common in the american bred spitz, because most american bred spitz all derive from the original dozen eggs brought over from the Appenzeller canton.) But I won't be breeding sibling to sibling for sure after the first breeding.Aww that's such a pretty BCM, no wonder she wanted you to take a pic of it. Well, other than the main reason...
And the first one? Hard-boiled??
I wondered about that also, but I know my eggs came from 6 hens, so they might not be related... but I guess its still possible that 1 hen could have laid 2 of my chicks... So should I just not hatch any of them?
Not a bad idea. If I am gonna cook them, I may as well smoke them.
Lots of people hunt for the day in the woods rather than for the kill. I will take one if there is room in the freezer, but if I am full up on venison I just enjoy the day in the woods. Unless it's 15 degrees, then I enjoy the morning in bed.
Nothing like a quiet day in a tree stand, even if no shot is ever made. Well riding a motorcycle is about as close, I think. Alone with nothing else to get in your mind except what you are doing at that moment. I can forget everything else in my life when I'm in the woods or on the bike.
Nah! I still got your back, but after the day we had, it was pretty witty.....
Even better is riding the bike in the woods. We just bought a pair of Honda dual sports that are street legal, great on trails, and capable in sand. And with hundreds of miles of trails on state land around our place up north, riding any kind of terrain is a blast. We tested their bog capability weekend before last (pretty good if there is a bottom).
I saw that earlier when you requested the title change. I was excited to see you got one!!This is probably a good place to say this... I bought a Golden Feather membership today, and I have to say it was worth every penny to get rid of those stupid ads that were dragging down my connection. I have wonderful high speed cable internet, but this site was always sooooo ssslllllllooooooooowwwwww. Tonight, without the ads, its zipping like crazy! Lovin it!
And the pricing is totally reasonable in my opinion. This is probably a good place to say this...
