She said/He said Who's right? Who's wrong? No one!

IMO, that odd number turning thing is just an other bit of poppycock thought up by the "they say" crowd just to make the job more difficult. Yeah, in theory, if you turn 2 or 4 times/day, the eggs will end up spending the night on the same side... but... what difference does it make, if you turn first thing in the morning, and last thing at night, unless you're one of those folks who spends way too much time in slumber land. I also put to rest IMO the idea that it's necessary to turn eggs before they go into the incubator. I had my best ever hatch from eggs that I plucked from a basket on my counter. (22/23 that went into lock down.) No turning, no parking them pointy end down. Next hatch: the eggs will stop getting turned at day 14, just to push the envelope a bit more.
I love that we think along the same lines!! lol. Tonight will be the last time I officially turn the eggs. I'll candle for day 14 tomorrow and then the non candling eggs will sit for a week unbothered. The 6 candling eggs will be turned, but only because I will be turning them to look at them...lol

Ok, the froo froo guys are here, so now is the perfect time to start the next chapter of the polar opposites thread. While Amy candles and marks cells, the rooster is in the cage and I am currently heating the water to process my first chicken ever. I know several of you guys have been doing this for years, but after 7 years of keeping chickens this will be a first for me. I won't post pics, but I will give a follow up post later.
If the froo froo candy stripers get outta control, feel free to give them a :smack from me. I kinda like that Dan guy, though. ChickenShan seem like a trouble maker.
Oh well, 145 degrees, time to grab the knife...
