She said/He said Who's right? Who's wrong? No one!

If you want to show pictures, show them here. If you post them on that thread, someone will tell you to eat them

Yup, my sole survivor won't be posted there for sure, she's mossy. But the tiny copper sparkles are really pretty in the sun!

So how can you tell a difference? I am curious seeing I have one and call her both and EE and Americauna. LoL!

I found this on the SOP for Ameraucana:

Eyes: Expressive

Is that a recessive or dominant trait?

Hopefully dominant! My new Wheaten/Blue Wheaten chicks need expressive eyes! (LOL)

Visually, there are only a few colors accepted by the APA as standard Ameraucana colors. The easiest way to tell aside from that is if they lay any egg color other than blue. If they lay a green egg, they are not a true ameraucana

I love my EE/OEs too, and love their green eggs. Hope my new Ameraucanas lay a nice blue.

Well then she is an EE! She has the pea comb but she has olive green legs and she is a partridge color. Other than that she fits all other characteristics.
Nothing at all wrong with EEs. In my area, true ameraucanas don't sell for much more than EEs. Most people just want colorful egg baskets, and green is just one more color

Some of the prettiest blues I have seen around here are from Cream Legbars
