Ya, I'm pretty scared. First year I took my son to the fireworks in town I almost went homicidal on the idiots a couple cars down letting off some that whizzed landed on the top of the car beside me and fell to the ground a few feet from my toddler son. I went off...way worse than my "sensative moment".

In her defense she had no idea that was hatching weekend and I didn't say anything because I have been doing so much chicken stuff lately. And its our anniversary.

Not the official day, but the time we have open to celebrate. She has no idea that it takes 21 days to incubate. I think when I talk chickens she says MMMhhhmmm and nods while she thinks of other things.

We just became legal for small firworks. Apparently we weren't even legal for sparklers until this past month.

Can I quote you next time (who am I kidding--every day from June 28 through July 5--though a lot more once the tourists start to arrive) someone complains about California's restrictions? (Nothing that flies or shoots--basically fountains with 500 grams of powder or less, noisemakers, sparklers, and novelty items (snakes and such))?

Well, we can't all be perfect.

I am not perfect by any means!!!! That was the only hatch I had be successful! The next all died due to temp spike. The third I had one polish that lived but dies a week later for unknown reasons and now I am on week 2 with my most recent hatch. So.... I am a far cry from perfect. OH and for calling me perfect....you get

Hubby can't understand how I can sit and gaze into the incubator, just waiting for a pip. But he did help me hook up the camera while we were gone for the weekend before my hatch started, so I could watch remotely. So he is somewhat involved, just not overly involved. I'm surprised she doesn't get into the hatching process though.

Oh, he did text me a pic this afternoon of my roosters at our camp. We installed the automatic door last weekend, and I've been worried about them all week. Seems the door is doing fine, the roosters were out and about! Yeah... what a relief!
