Well that's you and you may not have the time or energy to invest in making a coop. But I sure am going to try as soon as I can find a Wine Fridge.I just have absolutely zero desire to build an incubator. Just sold the coop, though![]()
Had an older retired man call and ask about it. He asked if I could put wheels on it, and I thought that was a fantastic idea. Only cost me about $30 in parts and 15 minutes labor. I think I'm going to start adding wheels to my builds
Well poor little Tiny Tim passed away last night. First night I wasn't there and he didnt make it. At least I didnt have to cull him myself
I agree, though the two I had really didn't go through a real ugly stage.Polish chicks are adorable, polish adults are beautiful, polish teenagers are![]()
Congrats. That is a great idea and you do a good job on them.I just have absolutely zero desire to build an incubator. Just sold the coop, though![]()

Goodwill!Well that's you and you may not have the time or energy to invest in making a coop. But I sure am going to try as soon as I can find a Wine Fridge.
I think that's a great idea, and I may do that, but probably only if I added a run. I'm just going to build coops as long as I can and try to keep cost down. There is another local guy doing the waterer and feeder, but his are a good bit more expensive. I'm going to sell simple as long as I can. I think it was Walnut, but maybe you, that suggested more ventilation. That and the wheels will be included on the next oneCongrats on your sale. Gonna build an other one? More changes? I have one suggestion for you. (tell me to go fly a kite if you don't like it) Throw in a nipple waterer and a low profile feeder (perhaps PVC pipe with an outside fill). Small coops are at a premium for space, and I bet the newbie will pay a premium for a well designed feeder/waterer that will maximize their space. I've actually considered doing a similar project here, but time management seems to be my biggest barrier. I do think you're wise to not invest the time in painting them... though, with a spray gun, and a single color choice, and for an added fee... that would also be an option.

Maybe you got lucky. Mine are just starting to look better. They are horrible from about 4-14 weeksOh. So sorry to hear that.![]()

Oh good grief, I wasn't talking about you at all. I have referenced it enough times that I meant it wouldn't be funny from me any more
Hey Yorkshire, what would your eye tell you on these? Three months old, and I'm still scared to sell pullets.
From left to right, I would say girl, boy, boy, girl, boy
My first batch I would have called them all girls, but see how #2 and #3 have the crest starting to arch around their eyes? My rooster has a long, flowing crest, and the young cockerels have been very "pullet" looking until their crests really start to get long. Their crests will be full like a pullet, then it will just keep getting longer and longer. There's no comb to speak of on any of them yet, and WCB hens have wattles, so the crest is all I have to go by.
