She said/He said Who's right? Who's wrong? No one!

Sounds great!!!!! I will have CCLs laying by then too!! Maybe we could swap!!! LoL!!! Well actually they should start laying here at the end of the month. And Tate better get busy esp if you expecting anything to happen. I incubated BCM eggs for my first hatch and I got 2 out of 8 because 3 were shrink wrapped. The only way I could see anything was to candle in a completely dark room with a light source from the bottom and from the top. Then I could see inside the egg like normal, just slightly darker. Fun!! Fun!!! I might just wait to add a BCM hen and an olive egger hen to my laying flock. I will just get them from you!!!!

Sounds like somebody will owe me a half day inshore

Oh, Tate is very busy, but I'm afraid his aim is a little off

I could probably candle a few, because some will be lighter, but I'm not going to just to mess with Amy

The downside of that is any non-hatchers will have to be eggtopsied
HAHAHAH!!!!!! Oh boys need to learn!!! LoL!!!! Hen willing!

My daddy's bday is next week (84years) so I am doing cake an ice cream this Sunday for him, so I have a couple busy days I'm looking at. I moved the little chicks (aren't so little anymore,) to the living room so my sister could take care of them easier and now I need to move them again so we have room and no one is sniffing 20 chicks. And then there's the cake.... I am doing a couple modling chocolate scultptures for this one and it's only the second time that I will have used modling chocolate (though, if I may pat myself on the back, the first try at modling chocolate was a success). Really looking forward to it, but at the same time nervouse too...lol Especially since I make my own modling chocolate.

Pics, please

I kept both my groups in the coop 2 days and let them out on the third and I have never had a problem with them going in on their own. The older coop they are almost always in and roosting by 8-8:30 every night, the teen agers- they like to stay out a little later and aren't as quick to get in and settled, but usually everything is closed up by 9.  I can't wait to see how it changes come fall/winter.

:D

Me either, I can't watching something that is supposed to be real and seeing a lot of play acting....lol  It's kinda cool knowing that one of our boys from this little whole in the wall town is on it, but, I just don't undderstand how these shows get the draw and popularity that they do.

Amen!!! And proud of it!  ;)

LMAO

They look great. I swear the only difference between my ee and that last one is my ee has orange legs.

Beautiful birds!

So I couldn't sleep last night and stayed online reading way to long. Then somehow I got on YouTube and was watching an ostrich egg hatch. It was awesome. Sorry sc, the guy doing the video was on the red team. Hands on approach! I told DH yesterday that I wanted an incubator for Christmas. Showed him the kind. He seems on board.

Ruby stated early on that peafowl needed to be assisted. I have no experience with peafowl, but I don't think my methods would work there. I don't assist, because I have ended up culling 90% of all assisted hatches. I would rather let them die in the shell. Amy would rather know that she gave them every chance she could. She and I used to always end up on the same threads giving conflicting advice, but it was never argumentative. We would both give our opinions, then tell the OP to do whatever they were comfortable with. That's how this thread was born
