She said/He said Who's right? Who's wrong? No one!

Wrong sir! A haiku is 5-7-5. Yours was more like 3-5-7-2. But still fun to watch overall.

Noooooo, you edited!!!! It wasn't fun to watch the first time

Funny thing is, as big a redneck as I am, I know what a haiku is. I had one published in the 5th grade

The

post just resembled one that it was funny enough to compare. I knew when I posted it that either you or Amy would call me out on it. The only difference would have been that you knew as soon as you saw it. Amy would have to google

I know. I read about 100 pages in, and it got a little overwhelming. That's when you realize that the thread was started before there was even an APA standard for those birds. There were, and are, some serious breeders on that thread, so it's a great place to learn, but I read more than I post

I would like to see pictures of Don's birds.
Even buying birds directly from the big breeders, they still point out issues with each individual line. Greenfire has issues, Bev's birds will show white feathers, LP has issues, Jeanne birds have issues. I may try and find better birds to start with if these don't work out, but we all have to start somewhere. I have birds that are laying pretty eggs now, and to begin with that was all I wanted, so I'm hoping that if I can get some feet on the ground I will have a better pool to choose from next year. Now that I know I can process birds, I can grow them out over the winter, and if I can't sell the roosters, I can freeze them. I will keep the best hens and sell the rest as POL dark egg layers.
I will read up to about 100 pages of it. I go back to it whenever I have time or make some time.

I know each line has issues. I'm just trying to find a good starting place so I can start making my very own mistakes. I want dark eggs too and ladycat seems to have good stock.

I want so badly to point out the humor in an Asian correcting my haiku faux pas.
Well, I guess I just did

Ruby - I meant to comment on your comment about the flock staying in the run without being locked in the coop. I locked my older set in for 2 nights, and the lavenders for only 1 night. Ever since, they have always gone in on their own. I do check them every night to make sure, but they are always happily roosting.
