Wait until they feather out. They will blow up again and eat twice as much as the big chickens. Try switching them to flock raiser. It's not a necessity, but my juveniles love it
Ok. I bought a 50lb bag of grower but I wasn't sure if I should switch them yet because I believe it has lower protein then starter. But I'm already mixing it into the starter so they have a smooth transition.
Sebastian dances after crowing because he has a noise reduction collar on and is trying to get it off. He's over twice the volume without it.

ok, I was thinking too, maybe because they are foraging now instead of sitting in front of the food dish, bored all day.2 reasons... 1 they're using body energy to acclimatize instead of grow... 2 they hit that 'dinosaur' stage and always seem to take longer to grow out of that...
