That's a great idea!! Someone on another thread was going on about how you should not let certain breeds free-range if they have crests that cover their eyes. That's a great alternative to trimming or not allowing foraging! I love that idea! I learn something new everyday on here.
And I didn't even notice the eggs. You're right, some look big and some small. Maybe he put other eggs under her to hatch??
it is! They could be call ducks, I googled a pic they're were lots of them at the farm and tons of Pekin's. I'll be needing all the help I can get. My BYC pals are amazing I don't think I could of gotten this far without you all. No counting my ducks til they hatch. Lol I'm scared
Don't worry. Thanks to everyone on here, I did my first assist with peafowl eggs (which are also notorious for needing help) last month and it went smooth. I was beyond nervous! Just be patient. Let the time go by before trying to help. I waited at least 26 hours, probably longer because the first egg pipped over night and I didn't see until morning. You want to wait as long as safely possible so the baby can absorb the yoke and the vascular system can shut down in the inner membrane. But everyone on here is great for helping!
