She said/He said Who's right? Who's wrong? No one!

I brood my newly hatched in a 100 qt tote. They are on pine shavings, under a 100w bulb. I put a piece of sponge rubber shelf liner or corrugated paper on one side of the tote, and use a 4" hardware cloth fence to keep them in the warm side for the first three days. Then I remove the partition, and move the food and water farther from the warm end for the next two days.

My turkeys are now four days old and are happy and active. They have had nothing but gamebird starter and fresh water. They will stay in the tote until the meaties are processed and I play musical birds. They'll be in a rabbit hutch for a while because I don't have enough pens for the different aged birds right now, and that has a wire floor.

Because my poults are started indoors, cocci is usually mild if it hits at all. It's when they go outside, into a grow out pen, that they are finally exposed to cocci. And that is when I use Amprolium. It simply keeps the number of cocci at a level where the birds can live through the first bout.

what about this rat trap bucket explain that please . in detail with Pictures

5 gallon bucket... use small can, soda can, whatever, put small holes with nail in each end as close to centered as you can... string heavy duty wire through it and secure to top of bucket... push can down in center to bend wire on either side of can to keep it centered on wire... smear peanut butter, rodent attractant around can... make ramp or some kind of access for rats to get to top edge of bucket... put a few inches of water in bucket (I top with veggie oil for good measure) and rats will put front feet on can to get the bait, can spins and causes rats to fall in bucket and drown...

400

These rats can jump high, so I added oil to help keep them from getting out... or use a 30 or 55 gal drum...

i read that when the chicks hatch under a broody, or if they're out immediately on dirt after hatching, they immediately start building immunity. I think the reason our meaties got Cocci is because they were hatched in a hatchery, put in a box, and we put them in a hutch where they had no access to dirt.

Agreed. Yet I am really not anxious to bring cocci into the house (with the associated stinky manure while the chicks acclimate) so it happens a little later here.

Amprolium does not build immunity. That is a common misconception. It kills cocci but isn't effective at all life stages or even all strains. It helps keep intestinal damage relatively low by knocking out a lot of the population of cocci while the chicks build natural tolerance to the protozoa.

When caged raised laying is outlawed, "floor raised" commercial birds will be kept on medicated feed as they are raised on tiered wire floor systems...essentially cages without side walls.

I just bought a Walther PP and a Mauser Luger P08. Looking for recommendations for a concealed carry holster for the Walther...IWB preferred. Suggestions? Or alternate carry positions that are motorcycle friendly?
