, when you said it was ripping off their heads, my bets were on raccoons. They have done that to my flock before. They are merciless and just leave the chickens laying there headless. Feathers everywhere. They will be back for more, and more, and more. They will bring the whole family. Once they have found a good chicken dinner, it's always dinner at your house until you get rid of them. Darn raccoons.
That sounds delicious right now! Enjoy!Chicken stew, that cornish cross will have fed us for 5 days. Nom nom. Will be adding real dumplings in an hour.

We just got an excessive heat warning. Heat index will be upto 115 until tuesday. Also got a severe thunderstorm warning. Huh. Bring it on. Hopefully will get some relief. My poor chickens need some relief. I started putting up wire on new chicken tractor when I got home from tsc. Could only handle half an hour out there. Will have to do some after 6pm and get up early manana.
We are and so far nothing??? Lol!!!Have fun Ross!
Wow! I am going to have to share that with the hubby instead of using the large traps.5 gallon bucket... use small can, soda can, whatever, put small holes with nail in each end as close to centered as you can... string heavy duty wire through it and secure to top of bucket... push can down in center to bend wire on either side of can to keep it centered on wire... smear peanut butter, rodent attractant around can... make ramp or some kind of access for rats to get to top edge of bucket... put a few inches of water in bucket (I top with veggie oil for good measure) and rats will put front feet on can to get the bait, can spins and causes rats to fall in bucket and drown...These rats can jump high, so I added oil to help keep them from getting out... or use a 30 or 55 gal drum...![]()
What a cutie!!!! I would so keep it in my boobs!!! Lol!!! Just for you BYC!! Lol!!!

I like one I got from The Well Armed Woman (although it took way too long for them to ship!) Crossbreed and Don Hume also make awesome ones that we like alot!I just bought a Walther PP and a Mauser Luger P08. Looking for recommendations for a concealed carry holster for the Walther...IWB preferred. Suggestions? Or alternate carry positions that are motorcycle friendly?

You know it's bad when you have to say a prayer, right!?! I'm glad you put her in her place!I agree with Snowbirds technique. A little poop will not hurt them. And another funny note....my phone is super "dirty".........as in innuendo dirty......while I was talking to my sisters mentally handicapped friend. Its a good thing I caught it before it made me look like a pervert! Of all things. And I caught a cat in my live trap to take to animal control today since no one claimed him on the neighborhood email. The Crazy Lady down the street had the audacity to email me the ordinances of the county saying that my "chicken dinners need to put in a live trap to experience how terrible it feels".....well let me tell you what I emailed her back. I told her that I am licensed by the state of GA to sell poultry and my birds are healthy and I know my rights to be a backyard chicken owner. I also told her that he sprays my house and it smells like ammonia, and he chases my cats away to eat their food...and I asked her what she would rather have me do....shoot it? or catch it and take to alive to animal control....then I said how dare she threaten me and my chickens..and if she has a problem come to talk to me face to face. Lets just say that shut her up quick. She said I was right and never mind and to have a good weekend.
Talk about wanting to B***H slap an old lady in the face mood she got me into.....I had to pray. PRAY HARD!!!!! Rant over...thanks for letting me share.

When & what do you vaccinate for?I have found through the years if you use Medicated feed on the chicks when you quit and place them on the ground they will get cocci. There is not enough medication in the feed to help with immunity to cocci. The commercial factorys use it because they never take them of of it. We shall see what happens when they put them all on the ground by LAW. I use non medicated feed and never have a problem of any kind. I also vaccinate for a few things also. Don
I love that little one!! So cute!
