Did you grab the eggs and put them in the incubator? Lol.So I walked down to my neighbors house because he's away this weekend and I'm feeding the animals. The mom that was on the nest yesterday with three hatched chicks is off now. 3 eggs were left but they are cold, are they goners? No signs of pip that I could see. But one chick was laying on the ground crying, eyes closed and cold. Yup, about to say this. He's currently in my bra as I'm walking home. Legs look a little splayed. Electrolyte and heat, anything else????

Our newest member of the boobettes!! Good luck with the little gal.So I walked down to my neighbors house because he's away this weekend and I'm feeding the animals. You could try to pop the eggs under another broody, or in the incubator, but if they are cold, its probably too late.
Heat for the hatched ones. Most imperative. Good luck. My broody has been with her clutch for the whole hatching & then 2 weeks worth. She threw in the towel and quit yesterday. Back with the flock.

Sounds like the little one is in good hands. I'm a big believer in egg yolk soup, too.
I would try and fix it's little legs. You could use some medical wrap bandage. It works well because it's flexible and sticks to itself. Let me know how it goes!!! Oh and tap into the air cells on the cold eggs and see if there is Any movement in the eggs.
I didn't grab the eggs. There is a broody right next to her...I really wish I would have thought to stick the eggs under her. She won't jump off the nest if I put the eggs under her, will she? I think this little guy was the last to hatch because it looks like he just finished absorbing the yoke by the size/shape of his belly and looks of his navel. I was thinking of bracing his legs but he's not even walking. Just sleeping. I used a syringe and gave him 3 sips of electrolyte. Surprised I didn't drown him. He peeps here and there but is in that deep sleep like he just hatched. We'll see. I'm going to go back. Should I try to put the eggs under the other broody? My incubator is almost full with delicate shipped eggs in cartons. THANKS GUYS!!!
