Thank you!! His feet and legs were cold when I picked him up, maybe that's why he couldn't walk and I thought they were splayed. What happens to chicks when they get cold and die? Is it like a form of hypothermia? And I know you played around with wording trying to find the safest way to say it!!

Thanks!!
You totally ROCK! How did you find it that fast?? Thank you!!!
He does! Thank you. You think he'll be good to go back with mom tonight?

Glad to help. I remembered he posted it when he was talking about the temperature gun, so I searched this thread, posts by sidewing, and "temp gun" I think... I'm on a big computer today, so its much easier!

I would think if he's strong and eating and drinking on it's own it'd be worth a try. Whether mom accepts him or not is anotehr thing. Hopefully she would. I'd have a hard time doing it though...lol

You did good saving him. I've lost chicks that were left behind in the nest. If you can catch them before they get too chilled, you have a good chance. Considering the brooders you girls are using, he probably figured it was worth fighting for

You lost your chilly chicks b/c you didn't have the right brooders!

X2. In this day and age, especially when the market is unstable, it's good to have credit. If you have one credit card and use it for a small amount each month and then just pay the full amount off, you can get good credit, fairly quickly.
Yay! I was going to ask if you'd have the camera up, but I already saw the answer.

Too cute!
Yesterday morning I let my cockerel out and he started crowing right away. I know my neighbor to the south has chickens and I can faintly hear his roosters. But I heard loud crowing coming from my neighbors to the north. I never knew they had chickens! So my cockerel and their rooster were going back and forth for a good while. I think my guy is just getting loud enough that theirs will entertain him. Now I want to meet them! Should I just go say hi? I'm not in a rural area, but live on a road that was once farm land decades ago. I'm so surprised so many of us have chickens!

I glad credit cards are a good thing cause I have a pocket full. only use two of them. and that's because Sam's club won]t take visa or I only use one . and man they love me my bill runs thousands every month my wife filled her van up four times in two months only cost $2 each time. I buy everything on that card all my materials for all my jobs. they never get interest but clean up on what they charge venders for processing .Ruby if you can see your neighbor you should introduce yourself I hardly ever see mine and don't know most of them.one I like sold and moved but still comes by. most of the time when I'm not here but I know he's been here he leaves egg cartons for me.
