wow That's got mine beat south and north of the boarder is it for me some how I knew I would not be able to travel now and did as much as I could when I was young. didn't hurt having Family all across the country though. and to the north and south . my brother had planned to sail round the world but my son with autisum changed that .he was rigging a 50fter. to make the trip when he died .I had hope to make a few legs with him. btw there are tears on the key board.

No worries about that, Saturn was killed off years ago...

Five recalls isn't so bad. I've seen worse. Of course, I've also seen better.

sure miss the 70s drove cross country twice in bugs remember the sunset in New Mexico strange thing first one was 64 gia when I crossed the cal. state line the speedometer quit working sold it flew to Hawaii stayed six months came back to Cal. stayed a year working on bugs. my brother in law and his partner wanted me back in tn. to work on bugs so sent my little brother to get me in a 70 442 olds fast trip home . the next time was in 80 had a green 73 beetle going to get my wife. stopped in Denver to ski on the way out .took the middle route .when I crossed the Cal. state line the speedometer quit working on that too .I could not believe it happened twice. I'm thinking I'm gonna be stuck here again. didn't happen though left in Lompoc with my aunt .went to the rock hit all the main Islands with my wife.waited for her to finish up at her job. body surfed and boogie boarded every day some where on north shore. came back to Lompoc bought a 70 ford f250 with a cab over camper took a cross country trip home won't bore you with the details. the bug got towed behind the truck with three dogs in it . it latter burned and was sold. I have two 70 models waiting for restore . I can do bugs in my sleep .they inspired the complete idiot books somewhere I have one.

My neighbor that recently passed away used to have the best stories like this! I could imagine you two passing somewhere along the travels (although he was much older than you are)

Awesome... I bet you really have some stories to tell too!

Most of my road trip stories are solo, but they were great times.

There's a popular country song on the radio with the line "How am I ever gonna get to be old and wise if I ain't ever young and crazy?". I lived the young and crazy...old is catching me...wise is another story altogether.

Haha, I resemble those lyrics!

So sorry to hear that. I had a little sister that left way too early too.

Don can correct me if I'm wrong but.....

Step 1. Don't kick the crap out of the rooster
big_smile.png

Step 2. Pick the rooster up and tuck him under your left arm with his wings immobile.

Step 3. Stroke under his chin and wattles for a while.

Step 4. Try to feed him ripe or over ripe banana during these sessions.

Step 5. Do this every day and he should chill out within a week.

I think that's about it.

I went with a group of very liberal people so it was quite interesting.

One night after working in the eye clinic they were sitting around drinking whisky mixed with pepsi. About a dozen peeps. I came in and they had half a bottle of whisky, but no more pepsi. I poured a shot of whisky and drank it down without a grimace. They were all staring at me like I had two heads, so in a very high pitched voice I said "I think it's watered down".

Not one laugh. Not one smile. Nothing.

That's when I knew I was with the wrong crowd.

I just can't hang with folks that have not seen or do not find the Three Amigos funny. Liberal is fine, un-amigo..... nope, can't do it.
