I got my first egg from coop 2 today. My Easter hatch girls. They are I believe 19 weeks so I've been waiting. I believe it's one of the bantams as it's tiny!!! I've never seen one quite so small. So I decided to put an egg in the nest box to try to coax them to realize that's where they should go...they ate it!!!! I need to get a couple fake eggs.

I got my gloves out to reapply a little of the blue kote to Elvis, got him out, dabbed his head and he decided to do the wet dog shake.....all over me. needless to say I was in a t shirt and shorts. Looked like I had blue pox. I discovered Lava soap works real well removing it-even after it was dry.

I don't think I told you guys, I made my first sale yesterday! Sold my 3 polish babies. Didn't really want to, but they don't really fit into my plan, so I figured it would be easier with them young. 2 months. Sold within hours of listing on CL to a young fella (and his prim-and-proper girlfriend! Lol)

Yay!!!! I am going to be selling 3 of my 6 cockerels within the week. So that makes me happy.

At 2:20pm not much progress.

Well I guess I am full on red team! This little one is well malpositioned. It's little head is pushing against the side. I increased the humidity, so that the inner membrane doesn't dry out. It's in there winking at me.

Meet Miracle, she made it. The other egg was dis.

Yay!!!! I'm sorry about the other egg.

I have a horrible feeling that Miracle is not going to survive. She appears to be gasping. I think it maybe omphalitis caused by the filthy condition of the eggs. I really want to slap that cow who sent me those eggs. I have her wrapped up in the incubator and if she is still alive in the morning it will be a true miracle. I am pretty p.o'd right about now.

Miracle is hanging in there. I gave her a couple of drops of nutri drench last night at bed time. She is no longer gasping. She had her butt washed. Tried eating a bit. Peeping along to Bette Middle at the moment. She is nestled with her friend.

She has started to walk about a bit. Not out of the woods yet though.

Walking is good.

She is in the bra brooder. It's the first time she has settled to sleep and not continuously cry. Poor little mite.

Bra brooder is much fun. They just want to snuggle. That's going to be your baby now.

I am not quite so intimately involved with my little gal but I may go buy her some chick buddies if the feed store 30 miles up the road still has them. None around here at all.

I'm in the same situation. Won't buy a Cornish x just for company, so I'm still on the lookout. Nothing is hatching well under broodies since it's so hot.

Congrats on the first egg from the Easter hatch! There's a funny picture somewhere on BYC of someone that got hit in the face with blue kote flecks - she had blue freckles all over her face!

Good tip on the Lava though. I'm glad something worked!

My desktop has a TB. I got it 3 or 4 years ago. I had to look up TB cause I had never heard of it...lol It's hard to believe in highschool I knew so much about computers and programming and the whole 9 yards, now I am as dumb as a box of grass. Thank God for Google.

Surprise! I came home to 2 eggs in the nest box! You know what that means? At least one of my silkies is female!! The only other possibility is a 16-week old LO, so I'm betting on the silkie that was squatting for me, Molly, or both!

Also stopped on my way home and picked up my Brinsea. Found a few extra goodies in the bottom of the box. A couple nice thermometer/hygrometers and a scale, so I'll test them for accuracy tonite.
